Has anyone else found the same thing? It seems to be a more recent problem. I bought 6 items, from 6 different sellers, on the same day a couple of weeks ago. I paid full asking price, didn't make any offers, didn't send any questions or ask them to post immediately or anything else that might have pissed the sellers off. I have a few hundred reviews, and 5 stars. Not one of the sellers posted the item, and Vinted has now refunded me for all 6. I didn't hear a word from any of the sellers. AIBU to think this is a bit of a piss take? If I really couldn't send an item that someone bought from me I would at least have the courtesy to let the buyer know and would cancel the sale.

That has never happened to me - but I am getting a bit pissed off with sellers who don't send my items until the very last minute, so they can take 2 weeks to get to me. I always send my items by the next day or, if that isn't possible, I message the buyer to let them know when I will be able to send it.

I understand that, for some people, they may have fewer opportunities to send things than others - but most people should be able to send something on their way to/back from work/school/nursery surely? And if you are housebound and limited to when things can be sent then let your buyers know!

Another thing that REALLY pisses me off is the attitude of some Mumsnet Vinted sellers on here to a perfectly polite and reasonable request to send something as soon as they can please, if that is possible (not a demand, a request). I have seen several comments saying things like 'I do have a life as well you know' or 'I'm far too busy to send things quickly just because somebody wants them by a certain date'. Really? You don't have any opportunities at all to wrap something and take it to a drop off point somewhere on your way somewhere else? You don't have to go to a post office nowadays and you can choose which methods of sending you want to use/don't want to use. I know we are lucky... We have In Post, Evri and Royal Mail drop boxes all within easy driving distance plus loads of shops where we can drop things off, but are you trying to say that there is NOWHERE for you to drop something off and you have NO TIME AT ALL to do that? If that is the case maybe you shouldn't be selling on Vinted.

You sound very rude and entitled. People do have busy lives, no they may not have time to find an Evri drop off point… Vinted provide 4/5 days to post items and I think that’s reasonable.

If you want things sooner, buy from a retailer that offers next day delivery not a second hand website!

Agree, this has happened to me too and it is frustrating. I did almost forget to collect one once because to be fair to me the seller had left it till the last possible date to post so by the time it arrived, I was away. I thankfully saw the final notification that it was about to be sent back and asked a friend to collect.

This is the thing with the time frames - things change. You could order something and it comes in three days or not arrive for over a fortnight and you only have a short window to collect. When you click and buy a top for a fiver, you're not going to know what you'll be doing the day it turns up.

This happened to me recently. I ordered a fairly expensive item and the seller failed to post it in time so I got a refund. She then messaged me apologising and asking me to buy it again. Which I did, and again she failed to post it. I got a refund but for several weeks Vinted had over £50 of my money. She then messaged me again asking me to repurchase the item! I just ignored it. It’s very annoying.

I had an item that had been on for a few weeks. Someone favourited it so I messaged to say I would sell the item at x price - a reduction. They bought it at the original price so in the parcel I put in a note with the difference between full price and reduced price attached. No response from buyer. Just rude.

There’s the opposite problem, which is equally annoying, which is buyers not collecting their parcel so then it gets returned and they get refunded. There’s been a few of them lately. Why waste my time posting the parcel and then having to go back and collect it? If you don’t want it don’t bloody buy it in the first place!

Same here. It happened to me twice in July!
Buyers just do not pick up the parcels from inpost

It is annoying when that happens.

I've been one of those people, but on eBay. I've been caring for my mum and a few items sold in the meantime and I didn't post the items for a few weeks. People have been so patient. I did eventually post all the items and apologised profusely. I am grateful they didn't give poor feedback.

@RowsOfFlowers Not rude and entitled at all actually. I do not EXPECT or DEMAND my items to be sent quickly, very occasionally I ask politely for them to be sent as soon as possible. What I EXPECT but do not often get, is for the seller to let me know if there will be a delay in sending or to give me an idea of when they will be able to send something.

I ordered a dress a week ago. It was only sent yesterday. Surely it must have been possible to pop it into a locker somewhere, on the way to do something else, in that time? Even with a busy life? What makes your life so very busy that you can't manage that? As has been pointed out by another poster, lockers for the various delivery companies are everywhere nowadays.

But you’ve just contradicted yourself. You just said you don’t expect items to be sent quickly, and at the same time say you expect sellers to message you if there’s a delay. Vinted provide sellers with 5 days to post.

So yes, I am afraid you are coming across as a bit entitled and demanding. I think posting within 5 days is absolutely fair. It’s a second hand site, most people are selling items at very low value, don’t expect Selfridges customer service. These are every day people.

RE lockers - yes they’re very convenient, I’ve got one up the road from me. But occasionally buyers select “relay” or “dpd” despite me not offering these courier services, and the drop off points for these companies are actually quite far from my house. I work long hours from home with only a half hour lunch break so I don’t always get time to pop out at lunch, and after work, I’m exhausted, so I will tend to post on weekends if it’s for these courier services. That’s just an example btw and I don’t even have children!

Btw, I’m actually just standing up for other sellers because most of the time I actually post on the same day… but I’m privileged as I don’t have kids or other responsibilities other than my job, and I live right down the road from an Inpost locker, so I’ll drop off during a dog walk…

The terms and conditions of Vinted are that the seller has 5 working days to post the item. If you don't like these terms then perhaps you are the one who shouldn't be on Vinted.

@MadMazie - well the dress I ordered wasn't sent until 6 days after purchase. And that was not my point...

I made 2 points:

if sending is going to be delayed the seller should let the purchaser know
If a seller is asked, perfectly politely, if a purchase could be sent as soon as possible they should not get hugely offended and assume the purchaser is rude and entitled. The purchaser probably wants the item for a specific purpose within a specific, reasonable, time frame. It would take practically NO effort at all to respond - equally politely- to say that they will not be able to send until Saturday, for instance, and not much additional effort just to send a bit earlier - if that is possible!

I am both a Vinted buyer and a seller
For items bought before lunchtime I usually send same day unless I am already out and cant do that. If after lunch I usually send next day. As a buyer, I have only once (politely) requested something to be sent quickly and that was because I needed it to go on holiday in 2 weeks. If it wasn't sent for a week there was a very real possibility of it not arriving on time. The seller, who was NOT rude, responded politely to say they would send on Tuesday (I bought it on a Sunday) and, in fact, they sent it on the Monday, for which I was very grateful.
