To ask why people give real details to litter wardens?

We don't have them where I live but I keep reading about mad situations where people are fined for putting a coffee cup down to check an email etc.

So why don't they just walk away? The wardens don't have powers of arrest surely? And if not that why not just tell them sure I take your silly ticket seriously and I'm Sarah Smith of 1 High Street Wisconsin USA???

Did he not slap the wardens face with a leather glove, demand satisfaction and ask him his weapon of choice?

Yanbu. Personally I couldn't be arsed to give false details, but I don't know why more people don't give these wardens an earful and complain to their local council about misuse of public funds.

It's just councils trying to make easy money by bullying hapless pedestrians, often elderly, instead of channelling resources towards the organised crime gangs flytipping everywhere, and some of the people in scummy neighbourhoods dumping sofas and nappies on the street. Because that's hard work and they don't want to do it.

No he said he went very formal (he’s a lawyer) to avoid swearing at him lol. The warden was a bit like a gaping fish as I think it was probably the most polite brush off he’s ever had. Maybe he should have challenged him to a duel!

I think the problem is that a lot of these "enforcers" get paid on commission by private companies - and that encourages them to go after easy targets.
There was a video doing the rounds of a bloke being threatened by 2 of them, saying he was 'interfering with his earnings.'
