AIBU to be fed up with a dog p*ssing all over our gate?

I’m getting so fed up of this but husband thinks it’s “just what dogs do” so asking for options (and possible solutions?)

Someone keeps letting their dog p*ss all over our front gate and garden path, it’s always there when I leave the house at 7.30 (we have a metal gate so it goes through the gate and all over the path) If it was on the garden wall it wouldn’t bother me…

I’m fed up of having to clean the path every day but don’t see how I can stop it happening? It’s especially annoying me as our toddler normally sits down on the end of the path to step down into the street as it’s quite a steep step. I’ve obviously had to stop him doing this otherwise he’d be sitting in a puddle of dog p*ss.

I’ll be getting a camera doorbell but if someone is this inconsiderate they’ll probably continue to do it anyway even if I manage to catch them?

It’s what dogs do if their inconsiderate owners let them! They could pull them away, walk on the other side , but no, they have to stand there as if completely unaware of what dear doggy is doing.

Or over the owner ( just joking…)

Sprinkle black pepper all over it. We’ve done this, I hope it burns the fuckers (kidding.. sort of).
