If you kept your kid of school

I've seen all over social media today people who have kept their kids of school because of the heat but then are out in the garden. Surely if your so concerned about the heat they would be inside. My neighbours a couple of doors down are the same the kids have been out all day in the garden. How is this safer and cooler then being in school. Makes no sense

Mind your own business you judgemental fool

off school

you can keep them in the shade, top up suncream, give frequent drinks, water play opportunities to keep them cool. Lots you can do at home you couldn't do at school

Some parents have no choice as some schools have closed.

School buildings vary, some can safely stay open some can't.

If parents have children at home they can decide what to do.

Obviously if the school is closed thats completely different I'm talking about the parents who chose to keep their children of due to the weather as they was so concerned about their health due to the amber/red warning but then for e.g. let them spend the day on the beach in the heat of the day or like my neighbours a South facing garden without shade i just genuinely don't understand. If parents want to keep their kids off to enjoy the sun say that don't put a big act on to try to justify. But people on this thread are unable to having a discussion without getting offended and throwing insults about.

Even in a south facing garden without shade (which will only be a minority of the families you're talking about) kids can self regulate and come in if they need to. In a school environment they may be in a poorly or unventilated room with a south facing window and 30 others and that may well be a lot hotter than an unshaded garden, and they can't just walk inside whenever they want, spray themselves with water, or suck on an ice pop.

Another one picking on the OP's spelling without commenting on the thread. Do you feel better now? People deal with the heat in different ways. People also have different levels of literacy.

It's needn't be such a bloody drama to point out spelling. If you're communicating in the written word, it really matters. Of and off mean completely different things and if you genuinely don't know the difference, it's a good thing to learn.

And it's not the job of posters on here to point it out, particularly if you don't even comment on the subject of the thread. Take it up with MNHQ if you don't like being deleted for it. And yes, I did report your post.

What about people with dyslexia ?
