Wtf! There’s no way he would have got away with anally raping someone?!

Aaah, sweet summer child …

Difficult as it may be to believe - even in this, the post-Savile Age of Epstein - that rich, famous, powerful men will exploit, use and abuse women (and young men, and children) for shits and giggles, and then just lie, intimidate or pay their way out of it, it is quite literally the way of the world and always has been.

And for every person who chooses to believe the victims and the evidence (as disclosed in the settlement process in this case), there’ll be 100 more baying for the blood of the ‘liars’ who are apparently just trying to knock down these national treasures for cash and notoriety.

How many more sporting heroes, international political figures, cosy TV names, renowned businessmen and whoever the fuck else need to be wheeled out in shame before you believe that almost none of these men are above this kind of behaviour? And that a sickeningly enormous percentage of ordinary ‘nice’ men would do the same - and worse - if they had the clout and bank balance to get away with it.

Longestsongeveranditsshite · 24/06/2026 17:37

Yes, this is what I thought…think it’s unfair to automatically say he raped someone when there’s no proof

Read the affidavit and come back to us.

His own words say he did it!

You really don't know what you are talking about.

I can't look at him without this statue coming to mind 😄🤣😂

Same 😂😂😂 It was there when we went to Madeira so I have a great photo of my kids laughing at it.

LassitersLegend · 24/06/2026 21:07

He's vile!

Thatsnotmynamee · 24/06/2026 22:05

That statue brings me so much joy... He's sort of morphing into it as time goes on

Chritrup · 24/06/2026 22:07

AllaFieraDellEst · 23/06/2026 23:13

I assume you know he's been accused of SA by an American woman and he paid her off?

I prefer Ronaldo Nazário anyway, the original one.

Completely agree. Brazilian Ronaldo in his pomp was unstoppable; a juggernaut with a jet engine.

Boreded · 24/06/2026 22:36

MandemChickenShop · 24/06/2026 17:10

not nonsense.

a previous poster described the Brazilian Ronaldo as lovely, yet he uses prostitutes, so lovely, he is not!

Edited

Oh I don’t disagree that he uses prostitutes, I also don’t care whether he does. I find it grim personally, but it is none of my business, I just don’t think people should say that he used male prostitutes and didn’t pay because it’s not truthful.

His lawyers disputed the ‘leaked’ affidavit from 2018…coincidentally this was also a World Cup year 🤷‍♀️

Boreded, brave protector of footballers

It’s not that. Some of them are the scum of the earth…I could name dozens of them. But the ones named so far are more salacious rumours than truth.

Adam Johnson - scum
Benjamin Mendy - scum
Robinho - scummiest of scum
Dani Alves - somehow acquitted (god only knows how) - total scum.

And while I am on…David Beckham, shags around on his wife, gets away with it, over a decade later drags his affair partner again for a documentary for absolutely no reason other than money…SCUMBAG

I’m not pro footballer and rape sympathiser…I just need to believe that the truth matters and what can be proven matters.

And if you were accussed of sexual assault and you could afford the best legal team in the world, would you not choose to prove your innocence?

Or would just pay someone off and fight to suppress the documents?

If you've nothing to hide, you don't try hide things!

Guilty or not guilty I would pay them off. The amount it cost him in comparison the the problems it would have caused him career and life was pennies.

if I had been his victim I wouldn’t have accepted a tiny payoff if I had actually been raped. I would have pushed for the truth and a criminal trial…and only then pursued a civil suit

I guess people are different but if I was innocent, I'd fight it until the end of time.

His victim may have really needed the money, could have been life changing and she may not also wanted to have a trial where her entire life is examined.

I agree with you I wouldn't take the money if I was in the same position. The truth would be more important to me. I also couldn't want his money compensation either so wouldn't pursue with civil case.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 25/06/2026 08:29

I’m guessing neither of you fine, upstanding keyboard warriors have ever been through the gruelling, shaming, re-traumatising process of a rape trial, @Boreded & @Random321?

Or had the system and the statistics fully explained to you, as a victim, and the facts that you’re vanishingly unlikely to get a criminal conviction?

Or publicly gone up against a rich, famous, powerful, globally adored man who has the entire deck stacked in his favour?

But hey, good to know that the way you imagine you’d behave is so morally upstanding that you can freely throw shade and suspicion on the choices of a woman who’s actually been there 👍

Random321 · 25/06/2026 12:54

@EnjoythemoneyJane Apologies if I have upset you or offended you.

My post clearly states why I understand her choice. I didn't criticise or shame the choice - nor would I. Everyone should do whatever is best for them.

I never said anything was a "morally upstanding choice". Never said anything was right or wrong either.

Stating that I would do differently isn't throwing shade or suspicious on the lady at all.

Every post I've made has stated that I believe her.

I would not thrown shade or succession on a rape victim. Never.

It doesn’t matter whether you get the conviction. It matters that you get to stand against your alleged abuser. And hiding it away and signing secret documents that doesn’t protect future victims is not helpful.

I know the way I would behave, you don’t. I also know that the only claim made against him in 25 years as a footballer was a civil case that was settled out of court for a months wages. If it happened, then hiding it so quietly and cheaply doesn’t help other people who need to know what someone is capable of or risk having it happen to them.

I am all for victims being believed and getting their day in court, but I’m also not at all for the court of social media. It can ruin lives…look at what almost happened to Jonny Depp. And I also say this as someone with a relative who was accused of assault after dumping his girlfriend. Fortunately there was CCTV of the event at which it was claimed she was assaulted, but all his friends were made aware of the claims, and could have believed it. The final outcome for her was that she apologised to him for lying and said it was because she was embarrassed that he dumped her 🤦‍♀️

People often do not know how they will react in certain situations until faced with them, regardless of what they say they would do.

They also often have no idea of all the negative consequences that might be explained them when it actually came time that they were in a position to do something.

Pursuing a civil instead of a criminal case is not in the least suspicious that this person is making a cash grab.

Imagine a lawyer is hired by you and tells you you will not win this case, or even you will win this case. But your life will be ruined. In the name of defending himself in court, this multimillionaire’s team of lawyers will destroy you. They will traumatise you. They will contact your exes, your family, people you went to school with who you want to have nothing to do with and they will ask them about your behaviour, your reputation, any smidgen of information that may claim you might not be the Virgin Mary and use it against you as evidence. When the severe trauma of the court case comes to a close your trauma will not be over. People you had thought would you would never have any contact with again will have been asked to give evidence against your personality.

As a result of you being attacked. Do you want your life destroyed? Do you want victim to be your main identity that you take forward due to the stress of the case and revictimisation by men paid to make you look like you were asking for it, a liar, are trying to use and manipulate someone that you actually want nothing to do with ever in your life?

Do you want the memories of this trial and being forced to go over things again and again in painstaking detail, have the kind of intrusion on your life you would only otherwise need if you were going for a job working on top secret government secrets, to overshadow how you feel for the rest of your life? To give you no chance to potentially slowly let memory fade more and more to have some hope of moving on and having the rest of your life as your own.

A civil case carries a much lower burden of proof than a criminal case, maybe it involved less raking over the coals of the alleged victim’s life.

If the lawyer says look they’ve offered you a deal or they’ve said they’ll destroy you - you can tell me you’d take the route of going to a criminal case, but I wouldn’t believe you because I don’t think you’d know yourself no matter how stridently you claimed to.

But yes, i was assuming you had not been facing a decision as to whether or not to try and take a multimillionaire footballer to court for violent crimes as the likelihood of anyone having had to do that is next to nothing.

Just looking at the Portugal & Spain game. The guy next to Ronaldo during the anthems is far better looking 🤩 think his name is Pedro Neto.

My DH hates him. Thinks he’s slimy and greasy and recalls that occasion he got (was it Beckham?) sent off and winked at his mate at the achievement. I laugh at his disgusting of him.

Yes, this! Along with the "handy" goal of Maradona.

Anyway I am delighted Spain won and he's out of the WC. And Martinez has gone too - maybe the next manager will pick the best team and not a big-headed has-been.

And well done to Belgium for thumping the US. They'll come into the match with Spain with confidence, though I think Spain will probably still nick a win. But you never know.

I don't suppose Vance gives a monkeys about "soccer" but I hope a European team wins the WC on US soil as he dislikes Europeans so much.
