To think the least my dog could do is learn how to make a cup of tea?

I mean, she doesn't do much else.

I asked Sybil for a cup of tea (well - actually a Pimms and Lemonade 😁) yesterday...

I can't decide whether Sybil has already had all the Pimms herself, or has strong opinions on the amount of Pimms you drink. 😁 she is very beautiful!

I think Sybil has already had the Pimms herself, by the look of her!

All of you moaning that your dogs don’t have proper jobs you only took them to part of the training - learning to look cute, chew shoes and sit on sofa, demand food and walks - to become Princess or Princesses

the final part is become a companion dog that recognises epilepsy or guide dog for the blind, sniffer dog or police. I think there might be other courses available.

Still they did do very well at the looking cute studies

For those looking for conclusive proof that cats don't sulk. This is the aftermath of my confiscating a plastic bottle cap he had somehow got hold of and was chasing round the house making an almost inconceivable racket.

And for the person sympathising with Maisie's hard work being cute, it costs me an arm and a leg for her to have a fucking glow-up every six weeks.

Tell me about it, £60!!! Spend less on my own bloody fur! And less often 😌

dragonbreaths · 20/06/2026 21:37

I was just thinking this morning my golden retriever would be perfect if he could make tea

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 20/06/2026 21:40

Mine is far too busy to be making tea.

She says being Chief Security Officer is 24/7.
She also has to fit in her part-time jobs of Bed Warmer and Snack Tester.

Pistachiocake · 20/06/2026 21:46

My dog says: You're very unreasonable! How many sleepless nights did she give you compared to kids? She had no accidents in the house after she was 4 months old, and your kids took at least 2 years to get potty trained.
And she guards the house all day, pretending to be a GSD. How much would a security guard cost you?
And she's always there to provide emotional support and cuddles, and will never scream you're the worst mother ever and I hate you. How much would a counsellor cost?
And if you drop food on the floor, she cleans it free of charge. No cleaner's bill.
And she ensures you get a walk everyday. How much would a personal trainer charge to ensure you moved daily?

Mine would totally put the bloody milk in with the teabag and not boil the kettle fully. And probably use the Tetleys that I keep for visitors instead of my Yorkshire Gold.

My girl would drink the milk herself, forget she was supposed to be making a tea and instead walk around with the teabag in her mouth. Classic labrador manoeuvre.

grumpygrape · 20/06/2026 21:55

Soz Mummy, too busy keeping Daddy's lap warm.

My dog will clean up after himself by eating his own poo!!! 🫣🤮

That’s lovely!

TheeNotoriousPIG · 20/06/2026 22:20

Oh, I know! I mean, mine can single-handedly herd cows and sheep, and yet still can't do the cooking or cleaning... they are currently moulting to the point that I could probably spin their fur clumps and knit a jumper out of it!

Mind you, if they did take to being very domesticated, I'd have no chance of biscuits or cakes coming my way if DDog 2 was involved!

Knew you were describing a Labrador before I reached the end!

ErrolTheDragon · 20/06/2026 23:43

I’m pretty sure most dogs would attempt to do the washing up (or at least, clean the plates) if you let them.

I mean, point taken, but let's not pretend she guards the house. She flings herself, like a tart, at anyone who comes within the vicinity. She'll snog your face off and you don't even have to buy her a drink. Spaniels - cheapest dates on earth.

Maisie is obviously the hard working lurcher's line manager.

That picture looks like the cat is questioning why the dog doesn’t do more 😂

"I'm not angry. I'm disappointed"

You're all stupid mugs and need to set some boundaries before you make a rod for your own backs.

I think she should come for a holiday with me as obviously she's too cute not to be shared 😂

MarxistMags · 21/06/2026 00:22

Hilarious 😂

I quite agree. We have 4 cats and not one of them will even push the hoover around. It’s THEIR fur I’m trying to get up, for heaven’s sake!
