Top 3 posts that you will click into…
Mine:

  1. Missing partner - said partner hasn’t come home from the work night out etc
  2. Should I go to A&E - pile on from all the armchair medics
  3. Mounjaro - the teeny tiny fighting for their life against the cheeky fatties who are cheating the weight loss game

Lighthearted and genuinely interested in what others like!

I like the 'how should we split the bill/rooms' ones.

Or the wedding/bridezilla ones.

hay5689 · 14/06/2026 19:28

Anything about property prices in London. Totally amazes me how expensive it is to live there.

Owly11 · 14/06/2026 19:29

CF threads are the best - nothing quite as satisfying as plotting revenge on behalf of someone else. The funniest thread I ever read was the dh who kept going for a wank instead of cooking dinner.

The threads I hate reading the most are when the op is being abused but doesn't realise it. Those ones are so sad. 😞

MajorSamanthaCarter · 14/06/2026 19:30

Threads about food that turn into 'who can eat the least' competitions. "I survive on a large gulp air and a sip of water every other Tuesday", "my diet is similar but I only have a small gulp of air".
Threads where the OP is obviously being unreasonable but argues for pages and pages that they aren't.
Threads where people share pictures of their pets ❤

CaffeinatedMum · 14/06/2026 19:31

Any AIBU where the OP refuses to accept they might be being just a tad unreasonable, when literally every poster is telling them TABU, and they just keep doubling down

UrOutdoors · 14/06/2026 19:34

“My wife has been distant since our son was born 10 months ago. How can I persuade her to open up to me emotionally? It’s not about sex.”

(It’s about sex).

Sortingmyself · 14/06/2026 19:40

Definitely CF threads 🤣 loved the one about a friend who borrowed OPs posh shoes (laboutins was it?) And another one with a dyson airwrap/hair dryer

Threads about people who comment on other peoples food and/or portion size "how do you eat all that? Omg AND you're having pudding!!!!!" Love those.

Absolutely hate it when we dont get updates!

MeinKraft · 14/06/2026 19:48

I love the ones where posters go to stay with their in laws for a few days at Christmas and it turns out the in laws only eat one meal a day of a boiled potato and a slice of sandwich ham. Usually the thread will climax with a OP breaking out and running off to the chippy.

havingoneofthosedays · 14/06/2026 19:51

Ahhh the inheritance ones have been good lately, and 98% of the time the poor bugger isn’t even dead yet!

OP posts:
NoArmaniNoPunani · 14/06/2026 19:51

'Dh ate a fat ball' sticks in my mind.

Thebinisrightthere · 14/06/2026 19:53

Anything to do with friendship or family dramas, I'm in!

havingoneofthosedays · 14/06/2026 19:53

And yes of course going to stay with (usually) in-laws and they don’t eat

I remember both these! Brilliant

I get engaged by:

Social justice stuff.
True crime stuff.
Friendship issues.
Bereavement stuff.
Anything "woo"
Anything big bad tech related.

I swerve:

Neighbour disputes.
Style issues.
Wedding threads.

As an aside, does anyone else find their internal dialogue about personal issues starts sounding like a MN thread 😆 ?

Favourite thread ever - shrew ice cream for cats in hot weather. That was priceless.

ohyesido · 14/06/2026 20:02

I was incredibly rude to somebody and now they’re mad at me, AIBU?

BrazilBalls · 14/06/2026 20:04

Parking
Cheeky Fuckers

Walker1178 · 14/06/2026 20:07

Anyone in HR?

I’m not, I mostly WFH for a great company with lovely colleagues so read these to replace the workplace drama I miss out on IRL

AlexandraImogenSloppe · 14/06/2026 20:12

Ridiculous behaviour, so I love CFs and things that (potential) partners have done that have given posters the ick.

I also love woo, fear of ouija boards, and recommendations of sage smudging and getting a catholic priest in to bless/exorcise.

MissAmbrosia · 14/06/2026 20:14

I like an inheritance thread, or true crime. In the more general sense I tend to stick to holidays.

Paparomeoumbrellaecho · 14/06/2026 20:18

Where someone's kid has left something in a now far away city and a local MNer comes to the rescue

New kitten threads with lots of cat tax (photos) paid

And in days of old the brilliant poems and messages for cards MNers would come out with

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 14/06/2026 18:15

Seeing as people are posting specific threads, can anyone remember a thread from m 2016/2017 (at a guess) from a woman asking if she was being unreasonable not wanting to pay for private school for her stepchildren. It was the thread that brought me to Mumsnet and I’m not sure if there was a resolution.

I probably read the thread you’re talking about but don’t remember any specific details. No doubt she got slaughtered for it back then compared to now as I think there is a bit more support for stepmums on here than there used to be. I might be wrong though. But I think there’s definitely been a push back in the past 5 years or so against the anti stepmum attitude. And there is lot more recognition that the man is probably the root cause of the problems too. I know “you’re not a nanny with a Fanny” isn’t the best expression, but it’s well meaning and better than being told to put up and shut up like a good little woman because a man and his kids need her to get on with it.

somewhereintheworld · 14/06/2026 20:30

There was one a while ago and the OP was asking about cleaning her eyeballs! Some of the comments made me laugh so much 🤣

BigYellowBus · 14/06/2026 20:31

SpottyPyjama · 14/06/2026 19:24

I love an airplane seat thread and the inheritance ones.

I love airplane seat stories and now ridiculous AI videos of Karens refusing to move come up on my FB reels. Bliss!

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 14/06/2026 20:34

Personal hygiene queries
I also really enjoy the made up threads. I love to see whether op sticks or twists when their story starts to unravel

ElinorDashwood68 · 14/06/2026 20:39
