Chicken Cesar salad

Hands down the best salad ever ever ever??
I am so addicted…the sauce, the CHEESE, the croutons…it’s so good!

I like a tuna mayo salad and Greek salad, but Cesar salad is the Goat

What brand dressing?

Ohh I went through an obsession with chicken Caesar salad recently. Was making them for lunch or tea nearly everyday 🤦‍♀️ no anchovies though I don’t eat fish (even though yes it’s likely in the sauce but I can’t taste that!)

A Caesar salad MUST have anchovies. Food of the gods.

The anchovies should be the large posh ones, not the little all bones and salt type.

Greek salad does hit the spot for lunch in Greece when you’re hot.

I love it but good greif- sooo calorific 🫣 My arse cheeks start wobbling after half a bowl!

I always use Delia’s recipe for this and it is perfect - because it contains anchovies, of course. I wouldn’t ever have chicken in it, though I might serve it alongside some cold chicken.

Perfect Caesar is a thing of beauty. Romaine lettuce, proper dressing made with anchovies, Parmesan, croutons…
And grilled chicken goes so well with it.
But nothing else! otherwise it’s not Caesar, it’s just a random salad. No tomatoes/olives/weird leaves/onions/halloumi/prawns > all wrong!

It’s my favourite too - actually a steak Caesar salad is even better but not traditional I know. So easy to make yourself too, we have at least steak or chicken every week

It's not a real Caesar salad if it doesn't contain anchovies.

Must have anchovies! Also like an egg. Less bothered about bacon but will eat it if it’s there.

I just had a Caesar salad for tea and then read this thread, in my haste to eat it I did not put the Parmesan on. I feel cheated!

Aldi do nice bowls of both caesar and feta salads in their sandwich fridge-I sometimes chuck them in a wrap/add a fresh baguette and add bits - olives or bacon, as they are cheap as chips. No anchovies except the sauce.

Homemade croutons in airfryer are 👌👌 though...cubed bread (focaccia/ciabatta or the like), olive oil and salt. Perfection!

Huge caesar salad fan here!

Take out the lettuce , anchovies ( if there) The croutons , the Parmesan and the sauce and my OH might eat it 😜. He thinks salad is the grass stuff on a burger.

I'm not a fan of prepackaged salads usually BUT... Morrisons new "The Best" range Cesar Salad 👌 black pepper croutons
