Rainbow colours everywhere

Rainbows everywhere. Hi. I walked into the office building yesterday and rainbow stuff everywhere. Nearby nursery has all rainbow colours on fencing and there was an ambulance with rainbow colours. A bit ridiculous?

It's all becoming increasingly sinister since the TQ+ was added... furries, bondage, piss parties, surrogacy demands... no thank you.

I looked them up, hoping they lived in some deep conservative town and I could say that's the way to do it: actually standing up for values that matter to you against the crowd.

But no, they live in one of the most heavily Democratic areas in the US.

This is about as brave as hanging an enormous sign about how much you love the church in Salt Lake City, or a massive Trump banner in deep Maga country, or BLM in Portland, or the CCP in Zhongnanhai. Really sticking it to your neighbours who all agree with you.

Edited

Braver than the cowards though who are the internet trolls, homophobic visitors and strangers who have posted letters through their door asking them to take their flag down.

Off you pop then.

Exactly can’t we just keep the toxic transphobia to that one board of “enlightened feminists”.

SuitcaseAndSecrets · Yesterday 18:37

Also it's pride month...Did you not know.. but l love rainbow 🌈 colours and themes all the time..

Something like 8 Pride organisers have been jailed for paedophilia in the last year alone.

I'm amazed that's not a bigger story.

A whole load on misinformation there but…..now do one for Catholic Priests. And another for Cub Scouts. Shall we stop those organisations too?

Silverbirchleaf · Yesterday 18:54

There does seem to be alot of ‘look at us, we’re flying a rainbow flag’ posts on Facebook this year, a lot more than usual.

Prombles · Yesterday 18:56

I saw a train liveried in rainbow colours today. I don't object to the principle, but the average cost of re-liverying a train is at least £20k, which is a lot to spend when they charge a fortune for tickets and still can't run a reliable service.

Detail exactly what's not true please.

With a massive swing from 8% to 29% republican voting means it isn’t the inclusive utopia you think it is.

I saw a nice one in Germany, where the Deutsche Bahn red stripe was replaced with a rainbow one. Of course, the majority of the train was still grey, wonder if it was a metaphor 😆

What is the problem with people who have been historically oppressed celebrating their difference? Just live and let live ffs

Happy Pride Month!

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · Yesterday 19:04

I honestly haven’t noticed many rainbows locally. The only thing that made me roll my eyes was my child’s senior school doing a whole load of virtue signalling online. Someone did have a go at them online over the trans aspect which I thought was brave considering the possible backlash.

savehannah · Yesterday 19:07

I see this year there seems to be more of the old school rainbow flags rather then the seizure inducing pride flags which is nice to see.

Agreed. Our fire station used to fly the rainbow being eaten by the trans triangle all year round which I felt was excessive. This year they've more sensibly been flying the Fire Service flag. But this month they're flying the old Pride rainbow. I see this as progress.

I went to our local city Pride today to perform as part of entertainment. There was still a lot of trans focus including badges saying 'No Terfs' 🙄 but also lots of plain rainbows on show. There was also a separate 'Trans Pride' event a couple of weeks ago so maybe they sense the LGB are getting tired of them. Or maybe they're just greedy and need ALL the parades.

I suspect it’s because everyone claims oppression now. There’s a general weariness at the victimhood everywhere. Even my teen comes home and said everyone at school is always offended. Words are literal violence, rules are oppression, consequences are injustice. I can’t imagine what it must be like to work in a secondary school right now.

Utterly OTT. I’m with you OP. And why they need to be in a nursery is beyond me.

Is it really beyond you? You cannot understand why teaching acceptance, inclusion and representation to small children is needed? You are exactly why it's needed actually, you've proved them right!

You do know that theres plenty of straight people also doing all of that

Exactly! Pride is overrun with straight people these days. That's the whole fucking problem. TQ+ is literally nothing to do with LGB.

Would it though?
I forsee floats about cars, engines, planes. sports and computer games.
Not every man is an incel

Pride is about sexuality and love. Unless those guys are having sex with cars its not a fair comparision. How do you imagine straight men would celebrate straight sex and love?

Interesting.
I didn't know there was an official version.
I have always just known it as either
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple
OR
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.
Although if you sing the song....
🎵🎶
Red and Yellow and Pink and Green....
Orange and Purple and Blue.
I Can Sing A Rainbow 🎵🎶
(I can't remember the last line)
Gosh this 🌈 malarkey is confusing.

Red, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

Richard of York gave battle in vain. That's how we remembered the colours at school.
I always thought the song version was nonsense, seeing as where the heck is pink in a rainbow?! 😁

I've never had a 'surrogacy demand' at Pride. What does that look like? Do two gay guys come up to you with a full syringe, a ball gag and a contract?

Wellywanda3 · Yesterday 21:52

I want the rainbow back where it belongs

I've always found that Richard of York thing harder to remember than the colours 😂
