AIBU to be upset my parents walked the dog in this heat?

My parents are looking after our dog this week whilst we are abroad. They’re not dog owners themselves so I had messaged them a few days ago reminding them to not walk above roughly 20’c with the dog as that’s the rule we go by in summer. I wouldn’t expect them to be able to walk at 7or 8am as they are in their early seventies so presumed they would use common sense and just skip any walks . Checked ring camera for a parcel today and seen they walked our dog at 10.30 in 26’c.
I've called them out on it and they’re acting like I’m being completely over the top and that the dog was fine. AIBU?
The dog is not a risk breed or elderly but I’m upset at the principle of ignoring what I’ve asked.

26 is a bit hot but not walking your dog over 20 degrees? Why? What is going to happen at 20 degrees?
I think the world had gone mad over this. I'm a dog owner and I'll use my common sense. If it's too hot I'll get up early but at the minute not a day goes by without someone posting on Facebook that they saw a dog being walked. You know nothing about them they may have been going 5 min to the patch of grass because they don't have a garden. They may be walking 5 minutes to the woods where it's much cooler.
People need to mInd their own business.

On the fence, we were on holiday with our dog. I stayed in the rental home for the hottest part of day with dog. We walked her first thing, carried her over hot pavements, it was breezy at the beach, she loved swimming, we carried water for her and a parasol. We would have gone straight back if she had shown any kind of discomfort. She’s a young dog. I don’t think 10.30 is too bad, but depends on the breed etc

Genuine question - people have dogs in hot countries. What happens if you have a dog in Australia or Kenya or somewhere else that's hot for large parts of the year? Are you suggesting these dogs should never get walked?

Such dogs tend to have far less fur and zero undercoat and aren't walked in the heat of the day, in really hot places its typical that no one does anything in the hottest part of the day!

In contrast our dogs in the UK have had to handle a jump from 13c here to nearly 30 in a space of perhaps 36 hours. My dogs are shedding handfuls of winter undercoat, despite me brushing them daily.

Dogs regulate temperature by avoiding activity that raises body heat, via insulation and panting - this is a very inefficient method if you are dragged out on a walk or encouraged to run around in the heat and given no time to acclimatise.

If you look at feral/wild dogs in hot countries they have pretty short coats, so undercoat sheds out easily, laze around in the shade all day and are active at dawn/dusk for the most part.

If they're in their 70s it's unlikely they're going to give the dog a strenuous walk.

I think you're massively ungrateful tbh. They're doing you a favour. Dog is fine.

A case of knowing too much through technology. Years gone by you'd happily know nothing about what time your dog got walked.

Being in their 70s they probably don't naturally think about texting when in doubt. Also don't want to bother OP.

Not really
Plenty of people of that age are perfectly regularly messaging!

It I’m saying not everyone, unlike with a younger generation.

Still likely

Parents should have lied. The dog wouldn’t tell.

They were trying to do everything right in their book. Just forgot about OPs rules
I can understand this.

Well if there had been an incident then it would be obvious
