Link to spreadsheet of Labour MPS calling for resignation - https://x.com/GuidoFawkes/status/2053925699824574889

Streeting has to make his move now, Starmer will never be this weak and he has the chance to go now.

Burnham might be more likely to win, but he is not in, and where exactly is a safe seat by election they could parachute him in for? (nowhere)

So - Streeting will never have a better chance of being PM, he pulls the trigger NOW or he never pulls it at all.

I did say on Thursday that I thought it would be Friday or Monday.... Tuesday is a pretty good guess.

This is a quiet Bat People moment... That Speech... not worth remembering...

This is a direct consequence of the instability the stupid MPs are causing.

Sure it wasn't because of the worst local election result in more than a generation?

Someone posted above - ‘Crucially, Burnham has the support of the trade unions and Starmer has recently reversed some of the anti union legislation - most probably to ensure that if Reform did get in the country would fall into chaos for the first couple years.’

This is why I will never vote for Labour. The MPs are elected to make the country better and do the right thing for British citizens. Ensuring he leaves chaos behind is exactly what he is doing. He is a disgrace as are the Labour MPs who have backed his poor decisions for the past two years.

He lost my support at Southport. What scumbag would hear the horrific facts of what happened to those little girls and then go to Downing Street for a party. He could have cancelled and any decent human being would have understood. Drinking and eating and partying after hearing what happened. Grim.

Not interested in rape gang enquiry’s. Rape crime increasing. The public have privately crowd funded a rape gang enquiry. Crowd funding used to be for playgrounds now it’s to get justice for raped children in Britain.

Starmer will be dragged out of number 10 - the longer it goes on the better as each day that passes more people are becoming aware of how bad Labour are.

The shit show will then continue with Rayner or Lammy (or another MP that has no interest in anything but themselves) at the helm.

I think the election will be early. I actually think it will be called early if Restore Britain are gaining too much support - the main parties will want to ensure they don’t get in.

They started reacting whilst the speech was happening. It was dire.

Blahblahblahabla · 12/05/2026 10:29

Go on Kier! Now stick to it. Don’t flip flap and fold.

To labour - sort your fucking life out. The country just spoke quite clearly. You have no mandate to dump kier and move further to the left. So give it a rest and do some work.

KnickerlessParsons · 12/05/2026 10:33

Love that KS “ takes responsibility” 😁

He’s the PM. He IS responsible - he doesn’t have to “take responsibility”. It’s not a choice.

GasPanic · 12/05/2026 10:35

The odds are showing him at a very high probability of leaving in 2026 so he is pretty much gone now.

The market is really for who is the successor. Streeting appears to be overhauling Rayner now and is approaching Burnham.

I can't really see this "timetable" business working out. Once he announces he is going to go then he needs to move on ASAP.

What is kind of interesting is that if he chooses to go immediately he is favouring Streeting (the right) and if he chooses to try to put forward a timetable (I don't think this will work and he will be forced to quite in pretty short order) he is favouring the left.

If Streeting is appointed I can see further disharmony sometime down the line, when Burnham and Rayner get together as the left "dream ticket". However events may stop this. For example Rayner may not clear her investigations and Burnham may not get elected.

This is the reason why in politics it always makes sense to go for it. You never know what random events are going to turn up and help you out (or finish you for that matter).

No doubt in my mind Farage is PM in later 26, or early 27 - 100% sure of it

Why on earth do you think we will have a GE this year? Our system allows for a change of PM without calling a GE. I don't think it should and believe that if there had to be a GE to change PM, a lot of this nonsense would stop, as most MOs would want to maintain the status quo, to keep their jobs. But there is no chance that Farage will be PM in 26/27.

Because that's where the money is today

And - as I have said a thousand times, governments call elections when they need legitimacy.

Tell me, honestly, who has more support from the markets, Rayner? or - Farage?

Not many other names on the table.

Neither and none. Because they're unproven as measured and careful. And thats what the markets live for.

Possibly Streeting. Doubt it.

Who has a track record of being what the markets can feel safe with?

Yes I am sure. The markets don’t want the instability of a leader contest and they won’t want a left leaning PM or someone who will come along and change the fiscal rules.

I know you keep going on about this, but I don’t think there has ever been a government who thought an imminent election was a good idea when their party was on less than 20 percent of the vote. Which is where Labour are now. Bets for this year are not sensible - it’s a waste of money.

Rayner who just let slip she would like to get rid of Freehold property? And is in a tax investigation?

Vs a city trader?

Yeah I think Farage has way more trust from the markets than Angela....

"We must double down on renters’ reform and show leaseholders our action on tackling ground rents and charges was just a first step to ending freehold for good.”

https://news.sky.com/story/in-full-angela-rayners-statement-after-devastating-labour-election-results-13542394

Yeah, I'll take Farage before Rayner takes my house.
