Do you think a degree educated, middle class 30 year old SAHM without any notable work history would ever have a chance at becoming a local councillor or MP? I feel like most MPs have either a local council or highly skilled professional background (law, finance etc). I’ve googled and I can’t find a single MP who has a SAHM background.

I would like the OP to come back and explain more about her view point that somehow we aren't spending enough time with our children now compared to the past and this is now somehow leading to poor behaviour and mental health in children.

Because research shows despite more women working now, the amount of time parents are spending with their children has increased.

In fact there's growing research as well showing that the pressure on parents now to entertain and monitor their children at all times is actually hindering their development and they are actually losing skills in independent play which is so important for their development

Seems to contradict the OPs view which she says is backed up by research but conveniently doesn't have time to look for.

Can you handle being abused and still attempt to get your points across. Unless you can deal with pure hatred and carry on being certain you’re right you would be best not to try.

You can’t transfer tax allowance if your DH is a higher earner. So most SAHP can’t use that.

I can't get boo hoo for those who earn too much to share their tax allowance with their husband if he is in a high tax bracket. Surely the SAHP should nurture all kids not just those of wealthy parents?

Any government needs to equalise WTCs, raise income tax bands etc but honestly, I can't advocate the extremism of Reform to justify it.

OP join a charity advocating for parents/write to your MP, get involved in parish council meeting but with the greatest respect I don't think your quite ready to head to Westminster

@Questionsssss If you want to protect the disabled, are you sure you want to align yourself with Reform? Kent are taking away transport for teenagers with various (and often multiple) disabilities. This is taking provision away from the most vulnerable, not targeting waste. What if this was your children? What if your husband wasn't rich and couldn't pay? What if he left you and you were unable to pay? Without support, these children's parents are going to be less likely to work.

Reform local council is 'targeting most vulnerable including kids to save money'

College for vulnerable teens is a 'lifeline' but their council has now put the brakes on funding transport for young people who would not be able to keep themselves safe if they travel alone

Have you experience in debating? Arguing strongly for a point in which you strongly believe in . Then arguing just as strongly again at the same point?

Do you feel you can appeal to all people who may vote for you?
