To wear the same basic outfit and not think about clothes anymore

So for the last year or so I increasingly don't give a damn about clothing, what to wear, whether it matches, buying new outfits, etc etc. I'm just done with it, honestly do not have the headspace - but I still want to look nice.

Does anyone just wear the same 'outfit' or the same look day to day?

I'm hanging on to a few dressier bits for the extremely rare occasion of going out & dressing up but at the moment I'm gravitating towards a hugely no fuss minimal wardrobe - any inspiration?

I like having a wide variety of different clothes to choose from but sometimes I wish I was a minimalist. I don’t think I’d be happy though, I love my dresses and jeans and tops too much.

Same. Work at home. Mostly go out for walks, gym etc. looking shabby

Just to say, after this thread I was inspired to have a massive clear out of clothing & it felt sooo good to get rid of the stripes, patterns, dots, checks etc etc, I think my wardrobe just had felt like a cluttered mix.

Ordering plain t shirts, boho scarfs and already have jeggings / paperbag jeans so I'm going to give this a try but feels good already. ❤️

Interesting thread. I love clothes and fashion, but I would say 5 days out of 7, I don't want to fuss, but do want to look put together, and end up wearing a variation of the same outfit, which tends to be jeans and some form of a white or neutral top. In the spring/summer I'll switch to lighter trousers and floatier or sleeveless tops, but still a version of the same thing, and have 3 or 4 easy to wear dresses that I reach for over and over.

I tend to buy higher end brands and wear them quite a bit and if I find jeans I like, I'll buy a couple pairs. When I update I do it by changing to current shapes, varying the kind of jeans or trousers, the length and shape of the tops and different shoes.

The other days, or on nights we're out, I make more of an effort to wear something different or new.

So not quite the same, but not far off.

I see some of you like scarves as an accessory. How do you wear them, do you drape, tie, etc? I like soft chiffon/silky scarves and I have lots, but can never seem to get them right with a Spring/Summer top half! Mine just don't seem "right", or get in the way of things etc.! There must be a knack that you know, and if anyone has pics that would be great too. x

3 pairs of baggy bottoms, 3pairs of leggings.
6 baggy t-shirts 3 fleace jumpers, 2 pairs of pj bottoms.
1 jacket, 3 vest tops, 5 bras, 10 pairs of knickers 5 pairs of boxers 7 pairs of socks.
1 pair of trainers, 1 pair of slip on dolly shoes, and slippers.
Thats my whole wardrobe.

What would you wear to a wedding, a party, a funeral, an interview, a special dinner in a restaurant?
Is that all included in the above?

Not everyone cares what you are wearing it is you as a person that has to shine, not what rags you have on your back.

Ok, no problem. I genuinely wondered how you manage with different events, but you've answered.
I have loads of clothes (probably too many!) and I love thinking about occasions, but we're all different.

I had way to much clothes years ago and still brought more, before i became a minimlist, but i only wore a had full.
Different events come up in life all the time, but as long as we are there clean and comfortble, it really dont matter what we wear.
If people friends, family workers etc really want us, care about us etc they ecept us as a person not by our clohes choice.

Having less to me is having more.

This is what Obama did to eliminate stress from his day so he could focus on more important things, and it’s more or less what I do really.

Fair point, and I actually admire your resolve!

My 'uniform' for decades has been jeans or plain coloured trousers of a suitable seasonal weight, worn with plain or stripy jersey cotton tops, long sleeves in winter, short in summer, three quarter sleeves in spring/autumn. Add a classic knit - I have the same style in several colours. Occasionally vary with a skirt and boots instead of jeans. A few casual jersey dresses, again add a classic knit. Add interest with a scarf or necklace. Classic flat shoes or boots. So easy....

That's what Angela Merkel did, she had various trouser suits.
Hillary Clinton wrote about how difficult it was for her on the campaign trail as women are judged far more on their clothing choices.

See I hate having to " dress up " for occasions. Fortunately I rarely attend such events. Most of my social events I can wear what I like
