To think allisons pearsons rant about Angela Rayner is full of nasty stereotypes about girls who are 16 and pregnant?

Well I’m not a fan of Angela Rayner and have never voted labour but Pearsons rant in the telegraph yesterday was half assumptions that Rayner must have been a bully who thumped classmates for doing their homework and distracted the class by talking about how many boys she shagged.
And of course reading books and having a child at 16 is mutually exclusive.
I don’t think Rayner has ever said she was like this Pearson has just made a load of assumptions because she was 16 and pregnant.

Anyway it’s behind a pay wall so I had to copy and paste the nasty part:

“I have noticed a tendency among politicians and commentators, particularly the posh ones, to praise Rayner’s flame-haired “authenticity”. That’s because they didn’t go to school with an Angela. Those of us who did know the harm that the Angelas do to kids from poorer homes who want to work hard and do well but whose lessons are permanently disrupted by those who don’t. The Angelas sit in the back row of the class putting on make-up, doing their nails and chatting loudly, throughout readings from the set book, about who they’ve sh---ed. They disdain the teachers who are rather scared of them.
Angelas have sex by the age of 13 (they mock those of us who are saving our virginity for later). Pregnant at 16, they leave school without any qualifications and work behind the till in Mac Fisheries before embarking on a romantic life which features at least two injunctions and a restraining order. By the age of 37, they are grandmothers (as Rayner was).
Believe me, all the kids who want to get on in life breathe an almighty sigh of relief that the Angelas have left school because now they can hand in their homework and try to pass their exams without being ridiculed or thumped by an Angela.
So you’ll have to forgive me if I don’t join in the applause for Angela Rayner’s vibrant “back story” and her ascent to the top of government through militant trade unionism. The working-class kids I admire often came from difficult council-house homes, as Rayner did, but they clung on to education like a life raft. Or they saw a job opportunity and grasped it with both hands. They did that old-fashioned thing called bettering themselves”

Yes - “cunt” - horrible way to describe a woman .

If you went to a rough school you might get what Alison Pearson means.
If you didn’t- it’s easy to be faux outraged

what does she mean? She’s never met Angela Rayner has no idea if she was like that. I didn’t go to a rough school no, but it was probably rough compared to Pearsons grammar school which was apparently full of stupid vapid girls who managed to pass the 11+. What complete bullshit!
She has based this entire work of fiction solely on Rayner being pregnant at 16. Well I was also pregnant at 16 so I don’t think I’m that out of touch with this subject

Fucknuts like Alison Pearson are terrified of Angela Rayner. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t spend column inches attacking her. They just wouldn’t bother.

The other factor of course is they hate any working class person who gets out of their lane, unless they adopt a middle class lifestyle.

History of the school here;

1974: September: Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School opens on Wragby Road as a 12-18 institution. 1435 pupils are on roll

The reorganisation of 1974 merged four schools - two single-sex secondary schools, two selective, two non-selective, into one 12-18 non-selective school.

Pearson was aged 14 at the time.

I think they meant two single-sex secondary schools merged with two mixed secondary schools to form one large, non-selective school.

Pearson was born in 1960, Rayner in 1980, their school experience will have been quite different.

If we’re discussing tax fraud by politicians we most definitely do.

Allison Pearson’s work has always disgusted me, it’s click bait for smug, self satisfied, middle class Tory women. She’s of the same ilk as Nadine Dorries, they both worship at Johnson’s feet.

Nadine Dorries didn't have a middle-class upbringing - far from it according to this interview;

John Major gained professional banking qualifications;

Having come from a working class background, Sir John relied on distance learning and professional qualifications in order to progress in his career. After leaving school at the age of 16, Sir John went on to acquire further qualifications and started working as a certified banker.

leaving aside the fact Pearson has never met Rayner so cannot claim to know what she was like in secondary school can we now claim that Pearsons own description of girls she went to school with is grossly exaggerated? Corporal punishment was still allowed up until the 1980s so what were teachers in the 70s doing being scared of little girls?
Rayner was pregnant at 16 and gave birth the year after year 11, how many people were staying on at school after 16 in the 70s to be “relived” that the Angela’s had left?

John Major is a man who never had to deal with pregnancies. If he had become a father at 16, it wouldn't have affected his education in the same way as Rayner's.

Allison Pearson has been investigated, quite rightly, for erroneously stirring up racial hatred. That didn't stop her squealing about how everything is so unfair for her. She spreads this victimhood so that it gives her the opportunity to be nasty, without facts.

She is taking legal action.

This was reported last week - preliminary judgment before trial;

24 April 2026
Statements made by Essex Police said to be about Daily Telegraph journalist Allison Pearson could be defamatory, a High Court Judge has ruled...

Mr Justice Chamberlain found two of those statements, as well as later comments by the county's police, fire and crime commissioner, Roger Hirst, about the investigation, may have defamed Pearson.

The journalist brought the legal action against the force and Hirst over statements she alleged related to a now-deleted post on X.

It wasn't cake. If you can't see that, there's no help for you.

It was a kick in the face for all the parents who didn't celebrate their children's birthdays. It was a kick in the face for all the women giving birth by themselves. It was a kick in the face for everyone who couldn't sit by the bedside of a dying loved one.

You can have the argument about whether COVID rules were reasonable and proportionate, but that is not the point. The point is that Sunak and Johnson spat in the face of everyone who did follow the rules, and that speaks to their massive sense of entitlement.

Again. They had a meeting in that exact same room just after. It honestly means nothing to me. Boris and the wider parties sure. But the actual thing they were fined for was a stitch up. Why didn't Durham fine Starmer for beergate?

Sunak just happened to walk in early to the birthday gathering.

Beer gate was investigated twice and nothing found. Because the rules were different then. You probably know this and are being deliberately disingenuous.

And worked in the industry before being an MP

The rules were fairly similar - which is why Keir Starmer initially lied about how many people were with him.

Interesting that she is taking legal action over the Conservative commissioner for Essex and their police force. Not usually known as an anti-Daily Telegraph hotspot 😉

Clavinova · 01/05/2026 14:47

Not forgetting Keir Starmer's meeting/s with the voice coach - police were 'out of time' to investigate.

What sweet justice though if Starmer's premiership is much shorter than Boris Johnson's. Johnson will be delighted.

Pearson, also a Johnson supporter, felt betrayed by him, "a long-suffering wife with a faithless husband,"

Whereas no one has fallen out of love with Keir Starmer.
Oh how we laughed.

I can't say I have seen self proclaimed Starmer fans/lovers on MN

I have seen it being used as a lazy term for non Tory/Reform voters

Plenty of Johnson ones still.

It is. If one doesn't want to see Starmer's head on a stick being paraded around by Badenoch and Farage, one is a Starmer (checks notes) "fan girl".
