To have no idea how/what products to use to clean a glass showerscreen.

So prior to this, I've only ever had polyester shower curtains that I laundered in the washing machine occasionally and would have to replace when the mold stains became fixed.

As a more eco alternative, for the first time in my life, we have invested in a hinged, frameless, glass shower screen. We squeegee it religiously after every shower but it has become marked with limescale nonetheless and the seal at the bottom is starting to grow mould.

Full disclosure: it is screening an electric shower over our bath.

How do you clean yours?

I tried vinegar once but then one of my students at school said “oh why does it smell like a chippy in here” so I haven’t done it again. How do you do it without getting vinegar smells on you?

Also viakal is great.

You use white vinegar if you don’t want the chip shop smell of brown vinegar

After squeegeeing (after every shower), then dry with a microfibre cloth. Vinegar on white kitchen roll once or twice a week and other sheet to dry it off afterwards, otherwise it will still streak.

For the mould on the bottom, Mr Muscle black mould remover.

Bleaching the entire bathroom every now and then also helps.

Get a water softener.
Use viakil.
I clean the mould on the seals with mould killer type stuff. After a few years I’ve bought new seals if they’ve discoloured.
