To think 7.7cm x 3.7cm size boxes are a ridiculous size for the PIP review forms

Helping my daughter. Many sections have 5 lines of 7.7cmx 3.7cm space. It’s a ridiculous size for anybody to try and cram any amount of evidence in let alone those receiving a disability benefit.

Almost every answer on my PIP review was continued on a separate piece of paper (typed, printed, and referenced on the form). It's especially difficult when you have multiple health issues/disabilities to each question requires a few different answers.

Just use separate pages to answer the questions and put "see page xx attached" or somethong like that in the box in the box.

But why would they design a form like this. It’s going to be sheets of extra paper. It’s madness.

Did you do an extra sheet for each section or all on one? Where did you put them/it?

Start a document and either start the answers on the application continuing onto the separate page or just type/write everything with the appropriate headings for each answer and add a covering letter explaining how you have submitted the responses.

Sonolanona · 29/03/2026 12:51

I do it all in Word, put my DS's NI number and name at the top of each page and then just staple the lot to the form... I number each page to match the sections. I've done that for every DLA/PIP form.

We’re both getting really overwhelmed with it and I need to do it today as I work full time and they don’t give you long to do it.
There is an extra info section for additional info which is different to extra info for each section.

Can I type the extra info? Can I staple each page to the relevant page in the form as opposed to a chunk at the end?

Could I type and cut and glue onto the boxes or should I hand write the boxes and add typed extra notes?

Yeah they've made it smaller I think. They say to just add extra sheets of paper at a certain point. But it does look too small now.

So a separate page for each section?

I’d do it all on an extra sheet/s of paper, typed and attach the sheet/s to the application with a staple. I wouldn’t be cutting or sticking anything. Keep it tidy and before printing if you use word, highlight the text and select read aloud it’s really useful for checking the grammar when the text is read to you. I found it really helpful.

Sonolanona · 29/03/2026 13:08

Yes I do a separate page for each section... makes a huge package, but we've never had any trouble (yet) with renewal!

So write the first sentence in the box hand written and then the rest stapled typed at the back? It’s such a ridiculous
form!

So not a running one at the back? Separate sheet for each section?

I completed it online, so didn't have this issue.

B0x3s · 29/03/2026 13:10

How long did it take you? Do you think I can get it done today. Website says it can take 10 days to get there .

I think you’re overthinking it. If you need to add more info just make it clear what section you’re expanding on.

Yes, and you’re right it is a ridiculous form. Take a copy because what’s even more ridiculous is that they ask you the questions again if they want to speak with you, but not on every situation. Good luck to your DD.

Why don’t you phone and ask for an extension? 08001214433 Select existing claims and enquires.

Similar here.

Why we can't submit it all online yet I've no idea. Utterly primitive system.

We’ve got until the 10th. To be honest we need closure but if we meet the 10th I need to do it today .

@B0x3s I have completed PIP applications and renewals and always send the completed forms (including additional pages for the information that wouldn’t fit in the boxes) as tracked, signed for postage via Royal Mail (using the address on prepaid envelope but paying for tracked delivery). That way you know the forms have got there in time.

You can't glue pieces of paper into a form.

Type it all out. Clearly labelled with the question numbers. Write in every box 'Please see attached notes'.

You can call for an extension if you need one. They will usually give at least another two weeks. It's just a pain waiting an hour on the phone just to do this !

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 29/03/2026 13:37

It's a review form @B0x3s . Why do you need to write so much?

Significant changes should have been reported when they happened so all a review needs is to say condition and needs have - stayed the same, improved or at most detailed gotten a bit worse.

RudolphTheReindeer · 29/03/2026 13:45

I dont bother. I put it all in a Word doc, save it for next time and send that with the form
