Lauriefairycake · 17/06/2008 18:58

thanks for that

notasheep · 17/06/2008 18:59

that may be the new way to wear them!

PeaGreene · 17/06/2008 18:59

Isn't that a health and safety concern?

constancereader · 17/06/2008 18:59

very good

Scuff · 17/06/2008 18:59

Formal complaint to the Head.
Contact the local paper.
Write to your MP.

This kind of thing has to be stamped out!

TheFallenMadonna · 17/06/2008 18:59

Actually you need the Chair of Governors. Agree, a disgrace.

windygalestoday · 17/06/2008 19:02

that would seriously damage her self esteem i can imagine nothing worse- how can you trust them to take her swimming if they behave in such a cavalier way,i blame the T&G children they take up far to much time.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 17/06/2008 19:02

I was at the "and when they dressed her..." til I got to socks!

Scuff · 17/06/2008 19:03

Headline: 'Local mum socks it to the school'.

Sub heading 'Staff bow down and accept something was afoot'.

Milliways · 17/06/2008 19:04

PMSL Scuff!

youknownothingofthecrunch · 17/06/2008 19:06

Now I don't think you should overreact. You should definitely approach her teacher first. Going straight to the head could be seen to be undermining her, and you never know what might be put on the wrong way round next time - the last thing you want is for this to escalate.

Have you considered writing LEFT and RIGHT on the socks in question,in permanent marker?

I'm really concerned that this could affect her entire school career. Perhaps it would be best to take her out of this dangerous environment. Have you considered home schooling? Or maybe going private? It might be the only way.

Heifer · 17/06/2008 19:07

No bows allowed on socks at my DDs school (I kid you not)..
But as they obviously are at your DDs school then I think an extraordinary Govenors meeting should be called...

Blu · 17/06/2008 19:07

YABU.
The bows should have been on that side in the first place.
IMO.

Teachers have to deal with helicopter parents like you all the time. Chill out and give them a break.

SoMuchToBits · 17/06/2008 19:08

Perhaps you should consider changing your name to 2shoesand2socksButNotNecessarilyOnTheCorrectFeet.....

Alambil · 17/06/2008 19:09

You're lucky she got help - DS has come home from PE days with his jumper and trousers back to front, his socks inside out and his shoes on the wrong feet more than once!

nell12 · 17/06/2008 19:09

Did you not know that all the cool kids wear the bows on their socks that way round... I would thank the staff for making your dd one of the "in crowd"

Twelvelegs · 17/06/2008 19:09

I think you should go private or pay more if you already are private. This sort of thing is scandalous not protecting the image of your child, quite disgusting. You should report them for leaving your dd vunerable to bullying.

hifi · 17/06/2008 19:13

this kind of thing makes my blood boil, is dd ok, god knows how youn are both going to get over it.

Kimi · 17/06/2008 19:14

I think you could sue them for at least £100,000

Hulababy · 17/06/2008 19:15

How appalling. And to make matters worse DD also came home in this state, after PE. How can the teachers allow it? I don't know what to suggest. And ours is private too - so even paying doesn't make you escape from such appalling behaviour!
