she had swimming today. and when they dressed her, they put her socks on the wrong feet. this means for the whole day the bows were on the wrong side
should I complain???

LIZS · 17/06/2008 19:21

Not only were dd's on the wrong feet but inside out more than once and it's private

2shoes · 17/06/2008 20:48

dd is severely disabled so she has to be dressed.
sh had a phisio once who insisted on puting dd's socks back on inside out. she said it would be more comfatable.(at least I knew when she had had phisio)

sorry to disagree with everyone - but YABU.

madamez · 17/06/2008 20:52

I think you should a)firebomb the school and b) provide a link to the thread that has obviously triggered this one.

RosaLuxembunting · 17/06/2008 20:52

Her physio could be right. DD3 wears her socks inside out because she doesn't like the feeling of the seam along her toes.

BouncingTurtle · 17/06/2008 20:53

I think it is outrageous, and the person involved needs to be disciplined. I suggest you arrange a meeting with the Head Teacher and ask her to draw up a method statement for putting on of socks to ensure such a travesty never occurs again.
I would also get them to pay for counselling for your dd, this thought of thing could lead to mental scarring which could affect her adult life - she'll end up on the streets turning tricks to earn enough money for meths.

Divastrop · 17/06/2008 20:53

on your behalf, and totally agree with madamez on this issue

2shoes · 17/06/2008 21:03

I will beat them with her socks

OP posts:
Twelvelegs · 17/06/2008 21:10

link please

2shoes · 17/06/2008 21:13

link to what???
her socks

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 17/06/2008 21:13

they could have rubbed against each other causing a horrible rash on her ankles.
(I hope the thread that started this wasn't the nursery staff who badly changed a child's nappy in the park ... very different ages obviously...off to look)

Blandmum · 17/06/2008 21:14

THis woman is obviously a psychopath who only entered teaching to torture young children.

Forget reporting her to the head or he LEA, she should be stipped nekkid and whipped through the streets to the town square where she should be stoned.

Her house should then be raised to the ground and her garden sowed with salt

Twelvelegs · 17/06/2008 21:14

Link to the inspiration thread, no???

wabbit · 17/06/2008 21:15

lol! do you think she needs counselling???

2shoes · 17/06/2008 21:18

I think you should telephone the school and INSIST that their next staff training day be entirely devoted to training all staff to put socks on and off in the correct manner.
Some with bows, maybe patterns and stripes to throw a few curve balls at them.

This sort of thing should not be tolerated!

Sanctuary · 17/06/2008 21:19

The school are sockists no other way to say it sorry
GET her out before your DD thinks that its normal

StealthPolarBear · 17/06/2008 21:20

My DS has so far lost a vest ad a T shirt to nursery. Do you think they are selling them on?

indignantmoo · 17/06/2008 21:20

ROFL

Twelvelegs · 17/06/2008 21:22

2shoes, then I salute you!!

ChukkyPig · 17/06/2008 21:31

Hmmm. Tricky one. You don't want to draw attention too much to incorrect sock positioning in case DD starts to attach too much importance to sock orderliness.

Can you distract her and switch the socks back while she isn't looking? That way everything correct and proper again without too much stress to DD.

I really don't think you should leave them like that and go out in public though. People may think you put the socks on with the bows the wrong way round yourself and may call social services.

And obviously report the teacher. And commence stalking/hate campaign. I don't think that would be an over-reaction, any judge would understand. I hear they are very scrupulous about their socks.

hifi · 17/06/2008 22:19

a more sensible view of the situation, well done chukkypig.

coppertop · 17/06/2008 22:21

Don't waste time complaining to the school. Contact your MP immediately. I'll bet the BBC news would be interested in this too.

ChukkyPig · 17/06/2008 22:25

Hifi - clearly another person who would never be caught with her socks in disarray.

Well done you. All decent respectably besocked people must stand up against any disregard for proper sock etiquette.

So far it is me, the judges and hifi.

I hope others will join us to fight against this depraved sock anarchy which is to blame for all of society's ills.

hifi · 17/06/2008 22:48

here, here.
