Mil is really nice. She's wanted to move house for a while and has had a quick sale. She needs to be out ASAP and hasn't found another property. She doesnt want to lose the sale as its been hard to come by. We're looking at houses. However its likely she'll soon be homeless and have to stay with us. This could be a few months. Aibu to ask She goes to an air bnb instead ?

I guess it depends on your family dynamic. We had a similar issue with buying a house and I ended up living with my parents with all my stuff and my daughter for 6 weeks. I wouldn't hesitate to do the same for them. Yes, it's a lot and we squabbled quite a bit but that's family.

My mil would have us if we needed, not that I’d want to! So I guess id feel like if we had a spare bedroom we should. Dh and I would need to work out coping mechanisms for me and I’d make it crystal clear to him that there is no option to make this permanent, and if he even suggests it then the arrangement is over immediately.
