Here's what Nigel Farage is up to this weekend.

Nigel Farage is flying more than 3,000 miles to speak at a pro-Trump U.S. think tank.

For around 12 hours’ work this Saturday the Reform UK leader is expected to collect £27,856.88 from the Club for Growth, a Washington-based anti-tax lobby group that has pledged to work closely with Donald Trump ahead of the 2026 U.S. midterms.

This group helped raise ÂŁ120m for Republican candidates in the 2024 election.

So while people in Clacton deal with rising costs, poverty and cuts Farage is being paid the equivalent of many people’s yearly salary to give a single speech in America.

And you really think no other MP moonlights at private speaking engagements ? Just another opportunity to have a pop at someone you don’t agree with . Neither do I but I don’t condemn what he’s doing .

Arrested, not yet charged and so has an ex Reform party member, and ofcourse another one was sentenced for taking Russia bribes.

Not sure what that has to do with this visit?

Demonstates we could have much better elected representatives be it Labour, Reform or any other party. I'm sick of tax evaders, MP's being 'poorly advised', 'not aware of the rules', MP's lining their own pockets etc, etc.

MsJinks · 06/03/2026 12:54

As an individual, an activist, then fine go to things you want to work on. As an MP how can it be fine to go and work on Trump’s campaign and (I see) be discussing our policy on the Chagos Islands - I’d have thought there’d be some rules against working with foreign powers when their policy doesn’t align with ours?

As for Farage himself then grifters will grift and disrupters disrupt - he showed his commitment to work for constituents and the U.K. as an MEP. He’s currently showing he’d like the U.K. to be the 51st or 53rd?! state of the US. But too many folk think all this is A OK still.

I think something is being looked at about second jobs - in the civil service you have to have approval of any other work or own business so I don’t think having the same applied to MPs would be too onerous or much of a stretch perhaps if they can’t ban them altogether.

True but the majority are hard working and invested in their constituencies.

Farage is on another level

Yep - we are very poorly served by our elected representatives. I can't believe a Labour MP's husband has been charged with spying! Shower of shite - the lot of them with very few exceptions.

He's her husband. He wasn't an elected representative. I agree it's beyond shit though, the close relatives and friends of those with access to sensitive info are all supposed to be carefully and closely background checked.

Meanwhile an ACTUAL elected representative, the leader of Reform Wales (at the time), Nathan Gill, was imprisoned for 10yrs for being a Russian stooge.

ilovesooty · 06/03/2026 12:58

I feel sorry for the Clacton constuents who didn't vote for him. The ones who did, or are prepared to continue to support him can't be very bright in my view. All his constituency though is entitled to an MP who does the job they're paid for, and he doesn't.

Oh that's ok then! he's only a sitting MP's husband. No cause for alarm. I stand corrected.

Arrested on suspicion. Not charged as yet.

And she has voluntarily suspended herself while an investigation takes place.

Again, it's nothing to do with Farage and his failure to do his job as an MP.

Does it not disappoint you? It does me. Do you not feel that we deserve better from ALL parties?

Quine0nline · 06/03/2026 13:17

And Jeremy Corbyn will be laying wreaths and weeping for dead islamo fascists.

Icanthinkformyselfthanks · 06/03/2026 13:17

@RobinInTheCrabApple , are MPs expected to be working 7 days a week?

Tabitha005 · 06/03/2026 13:24

Jc2001 · 06/03/2026 11:31

And still there seems to be plenty of people who are prepared to vote for his party. Ironically, many of those are the people who are going to suffer worst at his hands. They just can't see beyond all the rhetoric about immigrants being responsible for all the country's problems.

Yep, and plenty of residents of Clacton will STILL vote for the absolute fool, despite knowing he doesn’t give a shit about them.

If she knew nothing about it (and in the absence of proof we can't say differently) I imagine it disappoints her too.

Oh, he's not a fool. He's made a successful career out of grifting, self interest and lies.

StarlightLady · 06/03/2026 13:29

Is he flying on his UK passport or his German passport this time?

Dweetfidilove · 06/03/2026 13:50

They get what they vote for.
There's nothing new about his shenanigans 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Not at all, just at least two or three.

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 06/03/2026 12:23

Do you or don't you believe MPs should be able to hold paid positions whilst also serving as an MP?

If you don't you will have to take it up with the 30% of all MPs who do

https://gameofjobs.org/what-percentage-of-labor-mps-work-two-jobs.html

I happen to believe they should NOT and whatsmore they should get a pension for five years after they leave and not be allowed to take a job in industry, especially an industry they buttered up whilst in office.

However - don't just pick on Nigel, best to pick on all of them.

Quote happy provided they are also doing the job they were elected to do….Nigel is not.

Has he even done a single surgery yet?

No he hasn't. Not one.
He's back and forth to the US with startling regularity though. I've tried to find out how many times but he was up to 9 by the anniversary of the GE last summer. Often his trips are funded by crypto billionaires, fraudster George Cottrell, fuel company owners etc etc.

The air miles he's clocked up at the expense of people who want a hold over him must be phenomenal.

He failed to declare some of the funding and, when confronted about it said he was a politician not an accountant.

Is he a politician even? Or just a shill for Trump?
