For the last month we have been sent messages email, background screens and management briefings for a particular religion.

the following messages to

”showing visible support,
encouraging meaningful conversations, and deepening our understanding of the experiences of those of observences”

as well as being told to be considered with meetings etc and thoughtful and supportive!!!

In your opinion, maybe. I’ve seen different.

Details, please.

EconomyMeal · 09/03/2026 17:43

Has the OP been brave enough to say ‘Islam’ yet?!

My workplace has screensavers mentioning Lent and Ramadan. It also mentions Jewish holidays when they happen. As well as Xmas of course. It has precisely zero impact on me and not caused me to change religion.

@feelingutterlyhopeless for your non-Muslim friends and colleagues how have you applied yourself to their religious beliefs to “educating yourself and gain understanding and showing visible support,
encouraging meaningful conversations, and deepening understanding of the experiences “

What exactly would you like her to do? Please give some exact examples. Go on.

Remember, that poster isn’t the one that posted that speech in your workplace.

Your true colours and hatred are really showing!

Asking people not to eat in front of them during Ramadam, wanting prayer rooms in all government buildings. Do you know that 83% of abbatoirs are halal. Or maybe watch the videos of them praying in the streets holding up traffic. Where have you been?

I spent most of my career working with and for Muslims. Never once was I asked not to eat in front of them during Ramadan. Far from it. They see any temptation resisted as a good thing.

I'm not aware of any demands for prayer rooms, and never once have I seen praying Muslims holding up traffic.

I'm guessing that you get all your (mis) information from the dodgy social media and GB news.

If you say so, I’m not arguing with you. It seems you were waiting with bated breath for me to reply to you. I could agree with you but I don’t like being wrong. You’ve also come to your own conclusions with out any facts. Did you not see them on horseback riding people down with Sharia Lae armbands on? No? I thought not. I will not be answering you again.

saraclara · 09/03/2026 23:55

Government statistics on what percentage of each type of meat is halal.

The percentage of abattoirs that have halal certificates is far less than you say (about 30%), and just because they have the verification, doesn't mean that as the animal slaughtered there are killed to halal requirements.

https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questions/detail/2025-03-07/36521

Of the 1.035 billion animals processed in English and Welsh slaughterhouses in 2024, an estimated 214.6 million animals (20.7%) were slaughtered to produce halal meat of which an estimated 27.0 million animals (2.6% of all animals processed) were slaughtered for halal meat without being stunned.

Please could you link to a video of Muslims praying and holding up traffic? Or actual evidence of the any of the things you’re talking about actually happening?

What is Ramadam?!

And Sharia Lae?

Are you having a Sara Lee cake in Rotterdam?

The prayer rooms are fact. Where are the breastfeeding rooms at airports? Women sit in toilets expressing milk in my workplace, while Muslims have their prayer rooms. Yes I know everyone is welcome to go there to pray, it reality is it’s Muslims who use them.

Never seen demand for prayer rooms? Are you living under a rock?

I breastfed for 6 years straight. There's tonnes of breastfeeding rooms in airports all over the world!

Sorry-I don’t have X. Maybe a different source? This would certainly have been reported in the local press.

Pretty sure prayer rooms aren’t exclusively for Muslims. The ones at air ports certainly aren’t.

They are called multi faith rooms and they're for everyone.

It's not Muslim colleagues fault if other adherents don't use them as much.

Why don't you organise a prayer circle and use them?

ahhh this explains a lot. Look it up on utube then.

Redflagsabounded · 10/03/2026 11:20

That was a one off rally, held with permission, during which they prayed (by Downing Street). Are you pretending that this is just happening randomly all over the place, because we all know that's a lie.

Prayer rooms - these are multi faith. The one at Gatwick airport holds regular Christian services. And less regular Buddhist services.

Check your flies, your prejudice has slipped out.

To be fair, I have never seen demand for them. They exist, certainly but I've never known people question where one is and the only times I've seen them in use is when a) an autistic person needed a quiet space and b) a colleague (non Muslim woman) received some upsetting personal news at work.

Generally it's up to the person making the assertion to provide evidence.

And if all they can find is a thread on Twitter, they should perhaps stop and wonder why that is.

Hitchens Razor always applies.

If it's a grown up news story, there will be plenty of reports in local websites.

No. You’re making the claim. It’s up to you to substantiate it. X is known to be an unreliable news source. It will be in other places as well if it’s genuine.
