I take this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Marine-Collagen-Powder-Women-Hyaluronic/dp/B0CJVP7CSB/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=191093514149&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.I9Iv7t_IDRKq1gUm-BX6w7ChPx5Yt2Wg-J4Php5eeaqMKq2a0R8z-FsqJoWvXWEPfJOUXrBY-32Zgl9dfh1_-wChWicpeuYAx1SB40K89ne68oCosxcCzNXuRJfsT22g7Iq2FSfuUpLU1B5WVXfuydsNcBTZxz9I0oRASHYOsJGSFPT1GFvTEuBXl5o2KkzbdD1W0Nnqs4OWDEpyXdGUag.LiDRkcjNnfPm_KqWwuU_PrehOXOD6gR28jRN0DAQnYI&dib_tag=se&gad_source=1&hvadid=793520872289&hvdev=m&hvexpln=0&hvlocphy=9045587&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=286914192931795196--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=286914192931795196&hvtargid=kwd-297385161728&hydadcr=13984_2438835_408720&keywords=amazon+collagen+powder&mcid=dfa5c27ba03d3fb99397c1bfffe559d2&qid=1772360917&sr=8-1-spons&aref=hiFCJz9qO2&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1

it has various things added plus a good price and it’s pretty much tasteless. I add it to coffee because it does thicken the drink slightly and (slightly) thick tea is weird! I think it has made a bit of a difference to my skin although stopping/reducing drinking and tretinoin has made more difference imo!

I started taking ancient and brave 5g sachets a couple of weeks ago, to check if I could detect it in my black coffee (I can’t, it’s genuinely tasteless) and just bought the nutrition geeks glow one to try when these run out. I think I worked out from the articles that the different doses are effectively for different benefits so I was thinking to go with just 5g (or maybe 10g) nutrition geeks as in theory that should replicate the ancient and brave sachet - which may or may not be doing anything useful anyway.

I’m not convinced a mug of back coffee can drown 15g of anything without impacting taste or texture. anyone with any experience?

I take the Hunter and Gatherer Bovine powder in coffee and have recently added in the Healthspan Marine capsule, both are often on offer and don’t work out expensive.

Didn’t know about the Vitamin C thing so might add the soluble tablets daily as have them in anyway for when I get colds.

I think it’s worth giving them a go - can’t do any harm.

For anyone who says a balanced diet should cover everything for me anyway that is quite hard to achieve on a daily basis so I am happy to supplement.

I can’t comment on results especially for joint pain, as I started HRT around the same time and my aching knees and elbows cleared up after a few months.

Bedroomdilemmas113 · 01/03/2026 10:38

I take them and if I miss a day I instantly look and feel 10 years older.

Obviously I’m kidding. I do take them, along with every other supplement that possibly may help a perimenopausal woman. The only
things I genuinely notice a difference with are magnesium (if I don’t take it, my sleep quality noticeably declines) and Ankhways mushroom gummies which have been great for clearing brain fog.

My thoughts on collagen are that it’s almost impossible to see whether you’re actually getting results because if you’re at the point of paying for supplements, you’re also more than likely using a good skincare regime, drinking plenty of water etc, because collagen is sort of the next step on from getting the basics right. However, I feel like on the balance of probabilities it does do ‘something’ so I keep taking it. However, if I was looking to cut down my outgoings, this would be the first thing to go. I’m not sure if that helps….!

@Bedroomdilemmas113 are you on HRT at all?

@Bedroomdilemmas113 are you on HRT at all?

I’m not. I have found that the mushroom gummies have genuinely got me back to feeling (somewhere close to) normal so at this stage am ok. I have tried many, many other supplements aimed at menopause/peri (Happy Mammoth being one of them) and noticed absolutely no difference with any others.

I think I’ve just got lucky that one particular formula works for me. Even the sweating has stopped and I can bear normally heated/cooled rooms in a way I couldn’t a few months ago.

Great to hear, @Bedroomdilemmas113. I’m on HRT so will probably have to check with my pharmacist/ GP but I might give those mushroom gummies a go.
