Holidays - What have you seen to make you go urghh!

Just come back from a one week cruise, unfortunately due to my job I can only travel during school holidays. Some of the things I saw made me go urghh:
-Woman changing her baby on a chair in a public area- no changing mat, baby room a few steps away. Never sat in that area during the rest of the cruise.
-People not washing their hands or using hand sanitizer before eating in the buffet
-Parents letting their little darlings run around the buffet and ship/put their feet on chairs/walk across chairs/sit on tables! Why?
-Letting children sit with a tablet on full volume
-Facetime conversations you can't help but overhear
-Constant bleeps and blings when people send/receive mobile messages especially when trying to listen to a guide.
-Seeing families sat together all looking at their mobiles.
I will say there were some lovely people on the cruise.

Had a lovely holiday but where has consideration for other travellers or people gone?

First and last experience of AI - went to the afternoon tea / treats thing, which turned out to be rubbish, just a jar of mediocre cookies. I was going to take one anyway before the guest in front of me let their toddler stick their hand in and rummage about. No thank you.

Other shitty behaviour from guests there was reaching over you to get what they wanted at the buffets.

Seeing families sat together all looking at their mobiles.

How does this impact you in any way?

I've sat by the pool looking at my phone this afternoon. I'm reading a book on the Kindle App. Is that not an acceptable holiday activity?

Cruise ships spoiling my view.

Not joking either, they’re ugly and mega polluting, and bring little revenue into ports, other than the fees they pay to dock.

My city sees nearly 1 million cruise passengers a season and they bring a huge amount of revenue in. The industry is making huge strides with environmental measures. LNG and shore power being 2 of the biggest.

I’ve never experienced this on cruises but I choose adult only or go in school term. Both p&o and Marella have adult only ships at the cheaper end of the market, Cunard barely has kids on board when I went in school holidays (all were very well behaved) all 3 have dress codes for inside too

When I was a child I went on a family holiday to Benidorm.

Someone threw eggs from a balcony to the pool area which hit a man on the head during the nighttime entertainment. Ended up in a massive brawl and the police called. (All British guests of course).

I think my parents were mortified but me and my siblings were loving the drama.

The sanky pankies at a 5* adult only hotel in the Dominican. You’d see them with one woman in the morning and another in the afternoon in the same pool then with someone else in the evening. We moved hotels to get away from it. They were literally stroking these women between the legs in front of everyone, and there’s just wasn’t one or two there was around 6 of them every day.

Over the years behaviour at hotel buffets, people picking things up with their fingers, licking fingers etc. We don’t go to hotels that don’t offer room service or a variety of restaurants/restaurants outside to avoid the buffets. We wouldn’t do a cruise, I like the option of moving hotels if need be instead of being stuck on a boat.

I think these kind of unpleasant situations are encountered in every day life, not just on cruises/holidays.
