Ok given your rather vague answers. The salary isn't good. But the benefits package is very good. So you need to decide if the benefits outweigh the salary inadequacy. Plus what debts you have re loans mortgages etc as the death in service is a possible replacement for life insurance so that saves and boosts your income. As do the pension.contributions.

Okay. You're not going to share or even say what range. That's your choice.

Just imo (as someone who's seen how careers go) I thought as you get older you gain more skills, become more senior and thus get paid more?

This is the wisdom DH has imparted to our kids.

There's another thread where someone is asking if £32k is good. That person is 35.

£32k is a great salary to get fresh out of uni, but ultimately as you work more and become more skilled hopefully your pay rises with your increased experience.

Yes that might happen but personal development/skills have to be worked on. Some people soar and some people seem to go backwards and become less motivated to learn. We don't award people with a higher salary because they have managed to hold on to a role for longer than other people - in fact they are often the dead wood we can't get rid of easily.

Not really that good, couldn't survive on that salary. But 10x death in service is good.

Well I am married so there are two salaries coming into the household, but yeah I agree I could be paid more…

Pathetic That you couldn’t survive on a way above average salary. Sad for you

Saw that mentioned it's pharma. I would say for the pay, benefits and hours are pretty good but I would make sure you have a thorough read through the contract to make sure the working conditions are included.

Not sure on your role, but do you travel much for it? I'm a CRA and I quite often ask other CRAs when out on visits who they work for and what the working conditions are like. I find Glassdoor gives some sort of idea of what a company is like but talking with other CRAs gives a much better idea.

25 days excluding bank hols, I get 1 extra day for 5 years service. So 26 days, plus I can buy another week. So it works out at 6 weeks.

Very little travel. I have been sent on a few courses. Longest was 4 days abroad but we are compensated for every single cost obviously.

So another benefit. Many places, particularly the public sector, have very limited expense allowances and restrictions such as not being able to claim for alcohol or taxis, so you frequently end up out of pocket unless you buy very cheap food and can use public transport or have a car provided.

God no it’s very generous for some reason the car mileage works out as more. So it cost me 50 to fill my car to get to the airport but the mileage calculation gave me back 80. We were sent to Switzerland last year and meal allowance was 80 per meal. 🤣
