To think that a grown man should not pee behind a tree in the playpark?

DD and I were at the Park last week.

To set the scene: One man and 2 young DC were there as well. He was on his mobile and reading paperwork of some sort - I assumed for work judging by his phone convos. His DC were lovely and chatted to me and DD, let her go on things before them etc "as she is littler".

We were there about 15 minutes and DD was on the swings I happened to look around and the Dad had disappeared. So I looked around some more, there he was peeing up against a tree Back to us but OMG - in the Playpark.
We left then. Am I being a bit precious - I find this totally unacceptable.

Oh, god, someone's going to claim he had a bladder condition now and couldn't hold it in. If that's the case, well fine. He just sounds like a filthy eejit to me though.

"if you knew your DH had taken a pee in front of a lone Woman and children what would you honestly think?"

I would think lazy bugger, not bothering to round up kids and take them to the toilets

do you mean I should be appalled because they might have seen his penis? I am sure everyone has seen a man having a wee in public before. It isn't very good manners or very hygenic but it isn't a sexual crime.

2shoes · 15/06/2008 21:21

YANBU
he should have peed in his pants.

hifi · 15/06/2008 21:22

i see loads of men weeing, especially behind their car doors, think they are mini cab drivers.

dont think its a big deal tbh as long as you didnt see his todger.

QuintessentialShadows · 15/06/2008 21:22

I bet animals fertilize the plants/bushes in the playpark every day/night....

DeeRiguer · 15/06/2008 21:26

am itching to wash my hands for some reason

not best practice imho but not in shock at this breaking news..

callmeovercautious · 15/06/2008 21:29

It is not him peeing in public - just that the playpark is not the place to do it imo. I just see it as either stupidity, or arrogance.

I am not a girly who will squeel if a man walks behind me down the road. I just thought it a bit wierd. I will be sending DP out to pee in parks and take note of responses

For the record - after he checked the guy had not flashed me he just shrugged and said; "wierdo".

Round these parts, that sounds pretty normal behaviour. Maybe not dad in park with young children, but people seem quite happy to treat the street as a public urinal... Walking to the bus stop at 8am the other morning on the way to work, I saw a young-ish, fairly smartly dressed woman walking towards me. She stopped, pulled down her trousers, squatted down outside number 34, and pissed on the pavement. I stepped into the road to avoid the streams of urine and she pulled up her trousers and said good morning fairly politely.

Lauriefairycake · 15/06/2008 21:31

men piss in public

not exactly news

and you had to look round to find him

dirty bitch, you just wanted a glimpse of the todge

No one apart from you probably noticed, he wasn't wiggling in your face

so yes, yabu

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 21:33

LOL "no 34"

lazarou · 15/06/2008 21:34

I once came down the stairs in my local dodgy multi storey car park and there were two men doing their trousers up. Don't think they were having a tinkle though

Flashman · 15/06/2008 21:36

Oh come now that is one of the few joys of being male - the whole outside is your bathroom. And what the problem as long as you can't see his cock!

cadelaide · 15/06/2008 21:37

I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Doubt it would even really register, tbh.

In fact, in a similar vein, I am enormously proud that dd has finally mastered the art of crouching and pissing in the grass. A very useful, nay essential skill.

southeastastra · 15/06/2008 21:38

ew yes grown men weeing in public is wrong

madamez · 15/06/2008 21:38

A bit of wee won't kill anyone. Plenty of kids must wee in the playground as well.
So, did he have a big whanger then? SOunds like you had a good look.

callmeovercautious · 15/06/2008 21:39

Exactly the response I would have expected from FLASHMAN

sadly not madamez

tigermoth · 15/06/2008 21:50

How would you feel if he had asked your permission before wee-ing?

As long as he was discreet, I think what he did was ok.

Flashman · 15/06/2008 22:20

OMG no!!! Flashman as in the Bully in Tom Brown School days!!!!!

callmeovercautious · 15/06/2008 23:07

LOL, I knew that. I loved Tom Brown.

Adults peeing in public can get into trouble if they are reported to the police by official complaints made by the public. Indecent exposure, antisocial behaviour etc. Especially now photographic evidence is so easy to provide with cctv and phone cameras, he should have hidden himself completely from the childrens' view really. If they'd known his home was so close to the park he'd have been charged. Obviously, this hadn't occurred to him.

'What a fucking freak.'

bit of an overreation for weeing in public don't you think? Are you a townie?!!

nkf · 16/06/2008 13:22

Adults should wait till they get home. It's childish to pee in public.

SmugColditz · 16/06/2008 13:25

I really don't care. Call me the antiprude.
