I am so SICK of men abusing women and children! It’s every day at this point!

The Epstein Files, the paedophille nursery workers, the grooming gangs, the domestic abuse…

It is EVERY DAY, and these are just the cases that we hear about! They’ll be much more under the surface!

I am sick of it! What can we do as a society to stop this once and for all?!?

Yanbu.

It's been going on for about 10000 years though. A lot of men in power and with wealth are quite happy with it.

Sarah2891 · 12/02/2026 12:24

Yeah this has always been every day sadly. We just hear more about it now.

JacquesHarlow · 12/02/2026 12:26

We need to start believing victims (apologies for using the v word, couldn't think of a better term).

We don't need to go across the pond to see examples. Just read some of the words from Rochdale's deputy mayor:

An "attitude of victim blaming" meant authorities failed to protect young girls from sexual abuse by grooming gangs, a city's deputy mayor has said.

A damming review exposed how Greater Manchester Police and Rochdale Council failed to tackle child abuse by men in the town between 2003 and 2012.

Deputy mayor of Greater Manchester Kate Green said the report revealed how victims were not "trusted or believed".

The way police handle child abuse cases had since been overhauled, she said.

Ms Green told BBC Radio Manchester agencies at the time made "assumptions that these girls were troubled" and were " bringing it on themselves by their own behaviour".

**

There is often evidence for years, but if we continue to stop believing victims and turn our heads away, it will continue to happen.

Police left children at mercy of grooming gangs in Rochdale, review finds

You're absolutely not unreasonable. It's sickening.

SaveMeFromHumanity · 12/02/2026 12:33

Society could...

Hold men accountable.

Expect better of men.

Stop prioritising men's careers over women's safety and well being.

Challenge men.

Believe women.

Stop accepting men's poor behaviour as inevitable.

Unfortunately, only men really have the power to change any of it because they created the power structures that facilitate it. And as it suits men...

And, unfortunately, there are a lot of women who aren't allies of women. Just look at the backlash when women said something as simple as we wanted women's single sex services to remain single sex.

Ultimately, women only have the protections and safety that we do have because men allow it and we can see where the line is drawn.

You forgot men in dresses shooting school children, asylum seekers raping 12 year olds and our politicians turning a blind eye to it all, so as not to upset friends who help them get into power, and throwing women and children under a bus.

Women need to start fighting back in a massive group with our votes, and our feet. Together we could do serious damage to all of these people.

MeganM3 · 12/02/2026 12:47

Since the dawn of time.

And if you think the Uk is bad, imagine some other counties where there is literally zero help for most women.

Brefugee · 12/02/2026 12:48

i am here solely to say NAMALT and get it over with so nobody else needs to come here and say that.

Agree with you OP, it is nauseating.

xOlive · 12/02/2026 12:50

Cut the bullshit with little boys while they’re young.
”Boys will be boys” is bullshit.
”Treat them mean to keep them keen”
is bullshit.
”If he’s picking on you, he probably fancies you” is bullshit.
Some men in this country are too far gone and just need to be outcast and shunned.
We need to teach little boys how to treat their female peers, their sisters, their friends.

Oaknholly · 12/02/2026 12:50

You're not wrong, there will always be men disturbed enough to abuse women and children. Culturally we live in a country that generally values the rights of women and children and sees them as equal human beings. It is not acceptable to abuse and rape women and children here.

Many countries do not value women and children, girls particularly which is a vital reason illegal immigration from countries with rife misogynistic beliefs needs to be controlled. We have enough abusive men of our own without importing more.

Exactly

KolaKoalaKan · 12/02/2026 12:52

It is terrifying. I was in a magistrates court for 2 hours last week. One random court on one random morning. No media present. There were 3 paedophiles and 1 sex offender. All being sent up to crown court for sentencing but the sentences are crap.

That was just one court on a random morning. I can only presume these cases are so prolific that’s why there was no media interest.

one of these men had a 20 year history. He committed his latest crimes while on license. Yet there was just one tiny local paper report on him from 2008.

its left me completely bewildered.

Morepositivemum · 12/02/2026 12:54

I know everyone hates namalt but it’s important to remember. After the adolescence series there were people acting like every boy was like that and likely to do that. That’s not giving little boys in school a chance in life

Well, it would help if more men spoke out then, wouldn't it? If it's not all men, why aren't more of them doing more about it? If 95% of all violent crime was committed by women, do you think that men would stay silent?

Disclaimer: I have a wonderful husband and 15yo son. I also have a daughter. I don't hate all men.

LetMeGoogleThat · 12/02/2026 13:03

A woman is killed every 3 days in the UK by a man.

Conviction rates are around 83%

83% of women who are raped, don't report it.

2.3% of reported rapes result in a Conviction.

We teach girls how to avoid male violence.

We don't teach boys not to act violently to girls.

We judge mothers on their protective behaviour When violent men are around.

We ask women to be kind and disregard their safety, for the comfort of male feelings.

There seems to be a pattern, no?? And sadly, from the statistics they only believe us when we're dead and we quite literally leave a body of evidence that they can no longer ignore.

Then these men need to fucking say something and hold other men (some of them will be their mates) to account, but a vanishing number of them will ever do that. So, until then, we can't know who the "good men" are.

midgetastic · 12/02/2026 13:07

lots of things - and lots come from us

we need all men to respect women as equals - and that requires us ( as society and mothers as well as fathers ) to reflect how we raise boys and girls. We need to address the sexism we hold that expresses itself in so many ways from boys will be boisterous, girls like pink, distrust of women in positions of power , recognise that we hear higher pitched voices as weaker and less intelligent- the subtle training that we give kids that women are lesser. Until we see women as equal to men ( many pay lip service to this ) it is easier for men to abuse

we need to stop valuing women for looks over brains. The focus on looks tells men that we want to be valued for our looks. Our focus on looking good -meaning looking young and fertile- feeds the idea that it’s our sex that matters. We judge women. Women who don’t “make enough effort” .

we need to tackle poverty and despair because that breeds abusive environments and makes abuse easier - the poor kids get targeted first. Because they lack self respect and hope. Because they want love and money. We need a much more equal society. And that means paying more taxes. Especially the richest 10%.

we need to have men valued for things that are not power based. Men need to understand their role. They need to feel full and complete without needing lots of sex. The variation of sexual behaviours across nations says that this isn’t innate.

We need more women in the justice system. more in policing.

the default should be “I believe you” - not “are you exaggerating,” not “no he’s such a nice guy” . Children and women need to know who they can trust to open up about this

this isn’t about making anyone feel guilty. I am saying we are sexist because that’s how we were trained and brought up and that’s what we see all around to you break free from that is very hard. It’s challenging society. And we can’t expect men to fix it because it doesn’t hurt them enough

Greenwitchart · 12/02/2026 13:18

I agree.

I think it has always happened behind close doors and throughout history but now we are seeing how widespread it is because things are coming out through social media, forum and some news outlets and also because Survivors are speaking out and are refusing to be shamed or gaslight into silence.

The problem is that misogyny is so deep rooted and excused that we need a comple change in society if women, girls and children are ever to feel safe.

MO0N · 12/02/2026 13:23

We do not have to be at the mercy of men.
We have to stop automatically trusting and deferring to them, we have to push back right at the start and never let them get the upper hand.
I think that much of what's going on now is a backlash because men realize that women are breaking free of the economic dependence which previously kept us subordinate.
We have to keep pushing forward and facing them down.

Well said. I thought that Adolescence was really impressive but it was incredible how much traction it got compared to something like the Three Girls series based on the Rochdale grooming gangs. During the Gisele Pelicot court case and sentencing - absolute silence from virtually every man with a public profile

Men just don't see this as their problem to fix and I don't know what hope we have until that changes. We've all been conditioned to see women as support humans who make everything nice for everyone else, rather than real people in our own right

Netcurtainnelly · 12/02/2026 13:27

Not every man, but always a man. Ben going on for years but definitely got worse and worse
Bet there isn't a female without something to tell about a man.
