Personally I live within walking distance of lockers so I am

I think it can be worth it.

Vinted offer buyers the option to make a bundle from different items the seller is offering.

I often do that because it's not worthwhile to pay £3 postage for a £1-2 item, but if there are 6 or 7 things that I can get for £10, I would choose to buy from that seller over another.

As a recent example, I got a bundle of children's clothes including a few pairs of tights, tops and dungarees.

ScarletWitchM · 09/02/2026 08:37

Yes, but I have selected my postage to just the lockers which are a 5min walk away. I’m only selling my old stuff so it’s all second hand, all in good condition, but still not worth what I originally paid for them

LoveWine123 · 09/02/2026 08:41

I wouldn’t, not unless I’m desperate. I’d prefer to donate them.

IpsyUpsyDaisyDoos · 09/02/2026 08:43

I pass an evri shop and the in post lockers regularly so it's no hassle to drop things in there on my way somewhere else.

But it depends on whether it's something I have space to store or whether it just needs to go, if it won't sell quickly. I only really do it for decluttering as I don't buy much I don't need anymore and we're reducing what's in the house.

Prefer to pass on rather than bin, so either sell or donate where possible.

It’s worth it if you can put loads on in one hit for my experience. I made over £1000 last year on Vinted but my strategy was just to put everything on in one hit. I think that somehow moves you up the listings for visibility and I would sell 20 to 30 items in a weekend. Some of those were £1 or £2 but some were more. So it all added up and one trip to the lockers could be 60 or £70 worth.

duckfordinner · 09/02/2026 08:56

Dont do it. Every item you sell ( even £1 ones) counts towards your HMRC reporting limit ( 30 items per year is a threshold). Once reported, it may potentially gives you a massive hustle of dealing with HMRC.

I try to list about 5 items every week so those ones are near the top, then people see my older items for a bundle.

Darlinghag · 09/02/2026 08:59

I do, but only if they do not require significant packaging (like fragile stuff) and I only set the delivery options to the ones in walking distance.

It’s less about the money for me, and more about knowing that the item is going to someone who actively wanted it, as opposed to chancing a charity shop and knowing it might be tossed.

Seeingadistance · 09/02/2026 09:05

I do. Like others who do the same I walk past my post office every day so no extra time needed and I use digital labels. It all adds up.

Seymour5 · 09/02/2026 09:06

Just out of interest, does anyone successfully sell toiletries for more than their original cost? I like a particular shampoo, it’s quite cheap, around £4-5 max in Aldi, when they stock it. There is some on Vinted but at more than double the price, I’m not tempted. I made an offer as it’s been on three months, but it was declined.

TJNutbrook · 09/02/2026 09:09

Yes, I walk past the lockers and post office plus I have lots of recycled packaging so it costs me nothing. I tend to put a few items on together so there’s usually more than 1 parcel when I drop off.

KeepOnCleaning · 09/02/2026 09:11

I do. It's like a hobby for me, and the walk to drop it off gets me out the house as I WFH most of the time. And the balance builds with lots of cheap items, so when DDs want something new I tell them to find it on vinted and I always have enough balance to get whatever it is they want.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 09/02/2026 09:15

I don’t have the option to buy from vinted uk. I can only buy from Ireland and France. Lipsy, Zara, Mango have far nicer clothes in France.

Rainbowdottie · 09/02/2026 09:27

My bottom limit is £3. Anything under that, is not really worth it (to me). It’s not worth my time, effort, packaging etc when it won’t even buy me a cup of coffee in most places in London where I live. I tend to equate everything to that price of coffee 😆.

when I first stared I accepted all offers. To this day I’m still annoyed I sold a brand new item with tags for a £1! I would say however most of my sales are the £3 to £5 mark. If you catch me on a really really good day and I’m already going to the shop to send, I may accept a stupid offer, but not a pound.

I guess it depends what you’re selling. I’m not a reseller, just a shopaholic, so I’m only selling my own stuff. Sometimes I think I’m selling my stuff too cheap and sometimes (most of the time) the feedback is people are so happy with my stuff and they can’t believe what they paid for it….but really I’ve struggled to get the higher prices in all honesty, everyone on Vinted wants something for nothing in my experience.

That said I spend an awful lot of money on my clothes and I can’t bear (or afford) just to give them away to charity. Every £3,4,5 I get is still something compared to the £0 I’ll get from the charity shop.

Rejon · 09/02/2026 09:30

Over the past week I’ve just sold a whole heap of books and clothes for a pound each. It adds up.

Petercoast · 09/02/2026 09:30

drspouse · 09/02/2026 07:56

I find things of this value sell in bundles - people don't want to pay £3 postage for a £1 item. So it's worth having them listed to bump up the value of parcels.

Agree with this. I haven't sold anything on Vinted but I buy a lot. The postage is the same regardless of number of items so if I see something I want, I'll scroll through the other items to see if I can make up a bundle. Often if there aren't lots of smaller bits to make up a bundle I won't buy the thing I looked at first, because with the postage it's not worth it for one item.

EveryDayisFriday · 09/02/2026 09:40

I'm a newbie to Vinted having favoured the clothing bins at the recycling centre for decluttering ease of getting the clothes out of the house.

I've spent the last 3yrs losing a lot of weight and cycling through cheap clothes from Shein and Primark so worth very little on resale. I am in the process of reselling the last of my larger clothes that are better brands as I am now buying good quality clothes from Vinted. I keep my prices low, bras at £1.50, jeans at £4.50, tops £2.50. I've made nearly £50 in the last month.

My post office is 5m walk and lockers are 10m walk from my house, I am time rich so it's no bother to me to walk to the lockers every day whilst walking the dog. My biggest bugbear is having to store the old clothes.

rookiemere · 09/02/2026 09:54

I went through a phase of listing things and as others have said, low cost items are good as part of a batch so you’re not going to drop off specially. It wasn’t a particular fafd as my gym is right beside a drop off point for most things. I kind of lost interest though once the big items sold as it does take up a bit of time putting up pictures and responding. Not desperately in need of the money either, so I have gone back to charity shop drop offs as it gets everything out the door nice and quickly.

anotheranonanon · 09/02/2026 09:55

I give it to my 13 year old to sell and he keeps the proceeds. He’s happy to do it and it’s an easy supplement to his pocket money.

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 09/02/2026 09:56

Most things I sell are for £1 or £2, it all adds up and doesn't take too much time to upload or post

Hemax1 · 09/02/2026 09:57

Absolutely worth it, the money adds up and it helps the environment to reuse items. I hate seeing people put things that could be reused into landfill.

SJM1988 · 09/02/2026 09:59

The majority of my sales are under £2 - I made £600 last year. So overall I think it is worth it.

Lockers are on my walk to the gym or drive to work so I'm not going out my way to post. The odd Yodel parcel I get is slightly out my way but just means I take a different route to work.

EvilNextDoor · 09/02/2026 10:00

I generally sell for between £5-£50 items, selling for less than £5 only makes sense if I have sold higher priced items as the nearest locker is a bit of a drive as I live in a rural area.

Saying that I have put the massive bag on stuff on Vinted yet I’ve been working myself up to do it 😂

JPNeed · 09/02/2026 10:00

One of my daughters does. It’s easier than taking things to a charity shop as she passes post boxes etc on her way to work but no charity shops and she likes the fact it’s going to someone who actually wants the item.

She sells everything cheap too. She just sold an old handbag of mine for £15, it’s in perfect condition and cost about £300 new. I hadn’t used it for 15 or more years though so I’m just glad it’s gone.

KitKatKrums · 09/02/2026 10:05

Yeah I do all the time. I hate binning stuff that can still be useful to someone and I have parcel lockers at the end of my road, whereas the nearest charity shop is miles away.

Honestly I’d happily list stuff for £0 and the recipient just pays postage, but Vinted doesn’t allow that so £1 it is (and I put any proceeds in DD’s savings account).
