Staying in an executive suite in a hotel in cardiff, this is how they did our bed today!
Aibu to complain? They haven't cleaned the mirror, replenished the coffee pods or to conditioner either but towels were replaced.

Is this ok?!

That’s bad.

BillieWiper · 24/01/2026 16:30

It's not the neatest but are the covers fresh?

I'd ask for more coffee or whatever else has run out but not necessarily complain. Unless they just didn't do the bed at all?

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 24/01/2026 16:32

It doesn't look like an Executive suite! I'd have a word at reception.

JanuaryJasmine · 24/01/2026 16:35

I wouldn't be impressed at paying 'executive suite ' prices for that room to stat with.

but definitely not 'housekeeping' standard.

complain & honest review!

Placetobreathe · 24/01/2026 16:35

I woukd definitely complain about the coffee and conditioner not being replenished . And you could show that photo to the reception staff while you are there .
I've stayed in budget hotels where what you describe has been the norm but I didn't have expectations of much better for the price if was paying.

devuskums · 24/01/2026 16:36

Update, there is only 1 towel!

Its not a budget hotel!

That’s bad. If that’s the exec suite I dread to think what the standard rooms are like. Grim

ElizabethsTailor · 24/01/2026 16:43

I stay in good hotels a lot for work. It is no longer the norm to have bedding changed ever day and, given a lot of people (like me) prefer minimal disruption to the room, it’s becoming more normal for them to just “top up the room” i.e. empty the bin, fresh towels if you indicated it by leaving them on the floor.

That bed doesn’t look like it’s been made up - possibly just left the way you left it yourself in the morning?

That said, if you want a full housekeeping service just tell them that.

Arlanymor · 24/01/2026 16:50

Doesn't look like an executive suite to me - where in Cardiff?

Towels being replaced is an unnecessary extravagance unless you are very dirty (!) we are all supposed to be saving water. How long are you staying for? Coffee pods need to be replaced though. Did they make the bed or did you? What were you doing that the mirror needs to be cleaned during your stay?

Looks like the Radisson Blu? (Could be wrong.)

NoSoupForU · 24/01/2026 16:55

Why do you need to complain as opposed to just asking reception for some coffee and conditioner?

Maybe, but I thought their rooms were a bit brighter? https://www.radissonhotels.com/en-us/hotels/radisson-blu-cardiff/rooms?gallery=open&galleryId=GalleryListFullWidth%7CHeroRegion&mediaId=GBCWL1-BSTD-------0

The hand soap is in a ridiculous position so as you use it it squirts onto the mirror, not sure if it hasn't been used for a while and is a bit blocked

I dont mind if they don't replace them but they have taken one so we only have 1 between us now!

I didn't expect the bedding to be changed but did expect them to plump up the pillows and make the bed properly.

Arlanymor · 24/01/2026 17:04

Ok so call down and ask for:

  • Another towel
  • More coffee pods
  • A turndown of the sheets

Only worth a complaint if they don't oblige, surely?

To be honest if I squirted soap over the mirror I would just clean that myself. If it doesn't squirt properly run it under hot water or ask for a replacement.

poetryandwine · 24/01/2026 17:11

I would request a towel or towels, conditioner and coffee pods.

Many hotels are only doing proper housekeeping on alternate days and it looks like that’s what’s happened here. I could live with it if I had ample supplies

Swampthing55 · 24/01/2026 17:24

When I've stayed anywhere recently there is no room service till the third day, but they should tell you

user1496146479 · 24/01/2026 17:27

if that’s an executive suite, I’d hate to see their standard offerings!!

devuskums · 24/01/2026 17:31

Its really interesting to see the mixed opinions on here! As I said I dont mind if the sheets arent changed but I was expecting the bed to be made up. If there was a sign saying they wouldn't do it I wouldnt think twice. There are signs about the recycling bins, and if you want towel replaced put it in the bath but thats it. I hung the please refresh sign on the door as we went out this morning.

It looks very different to the picture on their website. Hotel a characters name from Dynasty? shortened to mean the medium used in pottery? I'd complain.

NoSoupForU · 24/01/2026 16:55

Why do you need to complain as opposed to just asking reception for some coffee and conditioner?

Because she's paid a premium rate and it's false advertising.

Ponoka7 · 24/01/2026 17:41

Because she's paid a premium rate and it's false advertising.

But that's a different issue altogether. If the room type didn't match the description of what she booked then that would have been something to address when she checked in.

Housekeeping not topping up coffee pods and hair conditioner isn't grounds for a complaint when it can be so easily sorted by just asking for some.

How on earth is it false advertising?
