No. It’s better under Trump

Show your reasoning please, you are definitely in the minority here and with the vast majority of what I see coming out of the US, they are poorer, more frightened and stressed that they have ever been, about 2 steps from forced birth (ever read the handmaid’s tale?) and their gaga president is talking about going to war to occupy a NATO country.

What do you think is “better”?

We need regular riots??are you insane
Actually you don't need to answer that🤯

That poster is saying we need a secret police force like ICE… if a law enforcement professional feels the need to hide their face they can’t by definition be trusted.

Yes I misread the post.

No. These nuisance people need to be brought in line. We need similar here with the regular riots that are disguised as protests. Instead we have police who just stand back and are too scared to do anything.

Blimey, sounds awful in your country.

Where are you that you are having regular riots?

I'm so glad we don't have that in the UK.

Trump is threatening Iran if they execute the young male protestor (quite rightly), however he finds it acceptable for a woman in his own country to be executed for also protesting, when in all honesty there was no danger to the Ice officers life what so ever.

Go figure.

I don't think the 2 situations are at all comparable. 1 is protesting the thread to their human rights and whole way of life. The other inserted themselves into a situation that had absolutely nothing to do with then and acted in a dangerous and extremely reckless way.

I absolutely feel for the innocent citizens, its a nightmare over there. But also, at least if they have a civil war they'll stop attacking the rest of the world for a while.

kirbykirby · 14/01/2026 23:46

I'm more concerned about the massacres of thousands of civilians in the past few days in Iran.

Doubt it, america has a very different culture to the UK.

We’re three years away from electing Temu Trump.

I'm pretty sure that the young man in Iran had as much right as Renee to protest his human rights and way of life.

I would absolutely agree with this. It seems to be convenient distraction from serious issues within our own countries. I watched some interviews with US citizens who support controlled immigration and the main theme seems to be they don't want America to end UK like the UK who have completely lost control of their borders.

Don't you think there's a potential difference between people who support 'controlled' immigration and people who approve of shooting a woman (a US citizen) in the head for what was, at best, exercising her constitutional right to protest and, at worst, a small infraction?

As an American, I would suggest you look for some interviews with the half of Americans who think what's happening is making the country less safe, they're not hard to find.

And by the way, Obama deported more non citizens than Trump has, and yet managed to do it without the performative nonsense that ends with people dead in a their car.

Because if the world's most powerful and influential democracy falls to fascism (as is happening) it impacts us all. And because if the West's superpower fails to hold Russia in check (as is happening) it gives Putin free rein to roll tanks across Europe. Like it or not, the USA is not just any other country.

No way is Putin a match for the rest of NATO, even without US, though.

What do you mean? I can’t work out if you are trying to be flippant or can’t write in coherent sentences.

If Russia didn't have nukes, we wouldn't have hesitated to directly help Ukraine repel the invasion. Even so, Russia still hasn't managed to take more than 20% of the territory after more than a decade of fighting.

Not any more than I am concerned with things happening elsewhere in the world. I don't know why British people obsess about America so much.

You’re not concerned about ICE murdering citizens???
