About a year ago my sister gave me a whole bag of them to list on Vinted and people were going crazy.

I’ve now listed two and to say there’s no interest at all would be an understatement

There are still people paying crazy prices but only for discontinued or rare ones and this time of year the market will be saturated. But yes I agree it's also probably starting to peter out a bit as well.

Blasterplaster · 29/12/2025 21:24

They’ve treated small retailers really unethically and are very much a morally wrong choice these days. Wouldn’t be seen dead gifting one. Thought this was common knowledge.

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 29/12/2025 21:25

My daughter still adores them and they always seem to be sold out

I've not heard anything about that, what did they do?

ItsStillWork · 29/12/2025 21:26

I think people are still going mad for them on fb groups but the quality has declined with many people complaining about an order they have received from a stockist or JellyCat themselves.

ive seen complaints of wonky eyes, legs not even etc, plus there’s so many fakes around that people are wary of second hand.

whatohwhattodo · 29/12/2025 21:27

Agree about the small retailers - it’s put me off. Must admit I think I would assume anything now sold on Vinted is fake so maybe that’s playing into it as well.

XiCi · 29/12/2025 21:28

It's probably the quietest time of year to list on Vinted. Who is going to want to buy yet more toys a few days after christmas. They're still popular.

Well the ones I have are like 20 years old so Jellycat hasn’t profited from it the way they are doing with the new ones.

Used toys three days after Christmas 🤣

I still love jellycat, they're a great British success story

People buying old retired ones likely aren’t buying them as toys.

They told many retailers that they’re no longer allowed to stock their products, many of these retailers having promoted jelly cat for many years. I know of some businesses that are likely to go under because of it. Jellycat see their value in making everything ‘rarer’ and to do this it helps if they can control their stockists. Grim way to do business.

Keepingmecalm · 29/12/2025 21:29

They are very over priced and the company have poor morals with how they have treated small retailers. I would not gift / buy one again.

No. 20 year old retired rare ones that people would collecf. It’s not one I bought at Selfridges a year ago and trying to sell for triple the price.

No one is "collecting" on vinted between Christmas and payday

TheWillToSurvive · 29/12/2025 21:32

Not going by the queue outside Harrods today for some Jellycat pop up. Bonkers. People must have been lining up for hours.

PlazaAthenee · 29/12/2025 21:32

They might think they're fake. It's swamped with them.

This.

My daughter (21) collects them. We used to enjoy looking around small independent shops for them but now jelly cat have stopped supplying many of them, my daughter hasn’t bought one for a while. A lot of the small independent shops relied on Jelly cat to bring in customers, we have now lost several of the small shops we used to go too. I have a feeling they will become less popular.

You know not everyone has money troubles right?

Moonnstarz · 29/12/2025 21:36

I think it's the same will lots of trends. I have a lot of children's organic clothing that at one point you could sell for almost the price you bought it at. Now it doesn't seem to sell at all and isn't worth the hassle. I just put it in the charity bag with everything else.

Smartiepants79 · 29/12/2025 21:36

My daughters still love them. I do think it’s a real shame the direction they’ve chosen to go. Stoping using small shops. Nothing in stock to buy. I fear they become victims of their own success.

Dutchhouse14 · 29/12/2025 21:37

I used to really like them but less keen on their amusables range and tbh they are overpriced.
Also dont like how theyve treated small independent shops.
Anyway maybe niw is not a hood time to.list?
Or these ones arent as desirable?

Gettingbysomehow · 29/12/2025 21:42

I think they have been replaced by labubus. I have a whole suitcase full of beanie babies that are pretty much worthless.

Bebeandgang · 29/12/2025 21:44

I wanted to buy my daughter a bunny when she was born (my son has one he loves) but couldn't get a small pink for love nor money. Definitely wasn't paying the crazy prices people were selling for. Finally managed to get a small cream one. I think, as a result of my online searches, my Facebook feed is full of collector pages and all I'm ever seeing is people asking if the toys they'd bought on vinted are fake. Also seeing lots of people saying their kids toys (gifted as babies) have been stolen from prams etc, which is just madness. Happy I've got a little bunny my daughter will hopefully grow to love but won't be buying any more. Reminds me of the ty beanie babies of the 90s which, like a PP says, are mostly now worthless.

Anothercoffeex · 29/12/2025 21:50

Its like anyother craze people go mad for it then the hype is over then on to the next silly craze.

Egglio · 29/12/2025 21:53

Modern day beanie babies.
