We are! We're having our ham tonight with stuffed twice baked potatoes, red cabbage & cauliflower cheese.

We'll eat the rest of the ham tomorrow

We don't have too much left after that which is good as we're away for 4 days over new year.

We still have chocolates & alcohol left but they have long life so will never be wasted. I'm v glad we are using all the actual food we bought

I bought far less this year as we were away visiting family & away again in few day. I didn't buy some stuff we usually grt & we really haven't missed it. I didn't bother with:
Tin of belgian chocolate biscuits
Cheese board
Cheese crackers
Charcuterie
Pate
Dips of any sort
Chocolates (we bought 1 tub quality street the day we put up the tree & three quarters still there)
Christmas pudding
Nuts

We have been enjoying:

All butter pastry mince pies from small bakery with baileys squirty cream
Baileys thick cream in our coffee in the morning
Nice wine
Real baileys with ice

I had a pigs in blankets butty for breakfast before work today

TwooooDoooozenRoses · 29/12/2025 19:48

All the main stuff has gone but we’ve lots of cheese and crackers, ‘posh’ biscuits and some random desserts leftover. Yay!

NotMySanta · 29/12/2025 19:49

Pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese and some of our 5p potatoes in their jackets for dinner tonight!

Tomorrow it will be the rest of the gammon in ham and lentil soup

TobiasForgesContactLense · 29/12/2025 19:51

Stuffing a quality street in my gob at this very moment!

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 29/12/2025 19:51

We still have the cheese board left and will be enjoying it over the next few days

JDM625 · 29/12/2025 19:53

Cooked veg which DH will make into bubble and squeak tomorrow

We had rib of beef for Christmas and the last of that was used in a noodle stir-fry tonight.

Still have several cheese which I'll make a macaroni cheese with.

Lots of lebkuchen, after eights, celebration chocs etc

Gowlett · 29/12/2025 19:55

Cheese. Chocolate. Dessert. Nuts. Crisps.
Bacon, sausages etc… can go in the freezer.
Baileys Cream. Last bit of bacon.
Turkey leftovers are gone into a big stew.

sprigatito · 29/12/2025 19:56

Yes! Tonight we’re having smoked gammon, roast beef, roast and mashed potatoes, three kinds of cabbage, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing balls and gravy. There’s still homemade stollen, mince pies and Christmas cake, along with mountains of cheese and crackers and chocolates/other treats. I think I overdid it this year, but DS2 will polish most of it off through January.

MrsSPenguins · 29/12/2025 19:57

The cat is and he's very happy with the turkey especially as the farm shop covered it in bacon. 8kg cat so he eats a fair amount.

Dollybantree · 29/12/2025 19:57

Cheese and crackers/pickles etc yes. I’ve thrown the meat out now and we’ve just had salad and fish for dinner as we’re so sick of all the stodge!

I have just cracked open another box of chocolates though - il stop come January 😂

yummumto3girls · 29/12/2025 19:58

We had left over turkey, beef and ham tonight. still lots left but I’m going to throw the rest away now as I think it’s been long enough. Still have cheeses and biscuits, chocolates. Sadly I will have do a food shop tomorrow as out of meals. 😢

Doyouthinktheyknow · 29/12/2025 20:01

Gammon today with my salad at lunchtime which was nice. Think it’s done now.

Dh always buys loads of Christmas chocolate so he’ll be eating that until February. I bought some shortbread which is still going and the cheese is still being enjoyed. That’s it.

user1471538275 · 29/12/2025 20:01

Yes, but I can't say we're still enjoying it.

I'm beginning to crave a mumsnet massive salad.

IamEarthymama · 29/12/2025 20:07

We definitely are!
Vegetarian household so no meat to eat up but we had our main dishes , Mushroom, Chestnut and Red Wine En Croute and Quorn roast on Saturday and Sunday with lots of pickles, red cabbage etc.
My favourite part of Yuletide food.
We had a buffet at DD’s, put together so well by DSonIL. It was so good, and there was M&S Sprout Gratin which was delicious. In fact after our trip to see the starling's mumuration, we went to Marks’s in search of more.
We haven’t had anything sweet so it’s Christmas pudding and Brandy sauce this evening.
I have had some cherries in liqueur and DW some Turkish Delight and we’ve eaten the Tony’s chocolate bars from our stockings.

i have lots of marzipan chocolates, there are chocolate coated nuts, After Eights, Matchmakers, Christmas cake, mince pies, left.
We haven’t drunk much at all though a hightlight has been the cocktails DD made on Boxing Day. Amaretto Sours! Wow!

happy with havibg this food and treats leftover.
I struggle a little in January and February so a little treat is very welcome.
We love this period before New Year and extra special food contributes to a sense of comfort and we are very grateful for this time.

Gliblet · 29/12/2025 20:11

We finished the turkey today. We've got about 1/3 of the Christmas cake left (had some for pudding this evening) and some cheese and crackers - there are some boxes of chocolates as well but they'll keep.

We've got a couple of bags of tortilla chips so I'll do a big scoopable salad for NYE (chicken, black beans, sweetcorn, peppers, cucumber and shallots in a feta and garlic dressing) and there's a pack of smoked trout in the fridge that will keep until NYD (we'll have it for breakfast with eggs). Did a mini shop today for yoghurt, fruit, veggies and prosecco so we're sorted for the week.

Ecrire · 29/12/2025 20:12

Was bubble n squeak today
still left ham; Brie; chutneys; crackers; chocolates; biscuits. But we’ve got a birthday and NYE now so all deca away as ever for birthday to not be Christmas confused

Octavia64 · 29/12/2025 20:14

Chocolate and biscuits still going. One stollen left.

finished the mince pies this morning!

UninitendedShark · 29/12/2025 20:14

Currently demolishing a tub of mini cheddars and finally got around to the Xmas pudding earlier.

Hiphopboppertybop99 · 29/12/2025 20:15

The leftovers from Christmas dinner were used by 27th. There's some pigs in blankets and party food bits left in freezer. And some dips/ pate left in fridge. We're not massive cheese eaters There's a little in the fridge.
We do have lots of tubs of chocolates as I bought a few and we've received loads as gifts too. Also seem to have lots of desserts/ puddings left this year too which is unusual.
I am kind of craving some normal meals now !!

EmeraldDreams73 · 29/12/2025 20:16

We are! Finishing the Baileys cream and mince pies, still got Baileys squirty cream with our hot chocolates, and I cracked open the panettone earlier (with brandy cream). V much in denial about work as well as calories round here.

MisterT373 · 29/12/2025 20:17

Sainsburys were selling their complete Christmas Dinner boxes for £12.50 (down from £50) on Boxing Day. Includes a turkey joint, potatoes, carrots, gravy.& parsnips. I picked up two so am likely to be eating then well into 2026

FairViewRosie25 · 29/12/2025 20:23

Found the little baby gammon at the back of the fridge today. Daughter hates it hot so will cook on Sunday with a pork chop for her. Gravy and Yorkies yum

WhineAndWine1 · 29/12/2025 20:36

The fridge food apart from the cheese and pate is done. The sweets, biscuits and crisps are still on the go. Personally I don’t want to taste sage until next December.

TiredofLDN · 29/12/2025 20:38

haven’t touched the massive cheeseboard yet.
just had my first mince pie 😂
loads of chocolate, cakes, crisps etc. left

finished the ham, turkey etc in sandwiches thin morning.
had the last smoked salmon in pasta this evening (unopened!).

Nevermind17 · 29/12/2025 20:42

DH hates food waste and will insist every soggy sprout, every leathery roasted carrot and every slice of powdery turkey is consumed before we can cook anything fresh. I reckon it’ll be around mid-April.
