And to be worried d

OP posts:
Hoppinggreen · 29/12/2025 15:07

DD is 5ft 2 and around that weight, she is pretty fit due to Yoga and does have boobs and a bum.
I think what people look like is a better indicator than BMI or similar but I also know its easy to wear layers and cover up being underweight

canuckup · 29/12/2025 15:07

Yeah that's extremely small

19lottie82 · 29/12/2025 15:10

Yes, that seems tiny. My DSD is 5’0”, a smidge below 7 stone and is a size 4-6

Ukefluke · 29/12/2025 15:10

I am 5ft 5 about 7st 7lb

I am slim but not remotely immaciated.

Nucleus · 29/12/2025 15:13

At 5'3', 7 stone is about as low as I go without looking ill, so I suspect anyone much taller would be starting to look gaunt. I am very light framed and start to look overweight much over 8.5 stone. For those of us who are smaller (I hate being called tiny!) our range of tolerability is very narrow.

Post Christmas, I am outside of range. Oh well.

BillieWiper · 29/12/2025 15:14

Well it's underweight. Not life threateningly so but ideally they should probably put on a few kilos.

Slowly building up their appetite as they probably have a small stomach if they are that slim. Or they could do an extremely large amount of exercise they need to cut down on.

But ultimately plenty of women in the public eye are that small and are deemed healthy and beautiful by the press etc. So there's lots of mixed messages.

FruityFrog · 29/12/2025 15:21

OP, this sounds to me like you have lost lots of weight are worried about yourself but simultaneously want to be affirmed as 'tiny'. This sounds like anorexia territory, not due to the weight solely but because of the sense of fear/glee I'm getting from your post. Look in the eating disorders chat or see the Beat website if you need advice/support. I'd also suggest going to your GP.

Aluna · 29/12/2025 15:21

I’m 5’ 4, 7 1/2 stone. Im bang on right for me. Not particularly tiny - have boobs and hips and a bit of a belly.

7 stone would be too little for me but I’ve known people my height with smaller frames and that could be appropriate for them.

TheatricalLife · 29/12/2025 15:24

My sister is 5ft 2 and 7 stone and absolutely miniscule -although naturally and not due to starving. She has a tiny frame and size one feet. So yes, I'd imagine 5ft 4 and 7 stone would be very small indeed.

Lostworlds · 29/12/2025 15:30

Is the person actively losing weight?
Remember that weight looks different on different people. I’m under 5ft and I am 7stone. At a recent check up I was told I was a healthy weight for my height and they wouldn’t expect someone of my height to be of a much larger weight.

ElBandito · 29/12/2025 15:31

I weighed that much in my late teens and twenties and was absolutely fine. No matter what I ate I didn't really lose nor gain weight.
If I dropped to that level now, I think it would be concerning.
Context is all here, it would depend who you were talking about and how much they are changing weight as to whether I would be worried.

MylipstickiscalledHugMe · 29/12/2025 15:32

I hope all these sizes and weights aren't stressing anyone out.

There have been times in my life when I was unhealthily obsessed with my size (I see now it was extreme anxiety about other things I was in denial of)

Everyone please take care of yourself

EmeraldJeanie · 29/12/2025 15:32

I'm in my late 50s and about 5 ft 3.
20s 7 and a half stone, 30s, 40s between 7 1/2 and 8 and now 8 and a half stone. I think as got older look better with bit extra on me. Pretty much same size clothes but maybe sizes have got bigger!

Hereforthecommentz · 29/12/2025 15:35

Yes it does sound tiny, as pp have said there needs to be more context. If they weight 9 stone and now weigh 7 stone or if they've always been small. What they've been eating and exercising and genetic factors. My child had an Ed so I would be concerned but I'm probably more alert to weight issues than the average person. Context is very important

Yourlifeinyourhands · 29/12/2025 15:36

I was 5ft4 and 8.3 stone and looked boney and not well! I am now nearly 9 stone and look a lot heartier. That is tiny!

FoxeydHorse · 29/12/2025 15:36

I was that height and 7.5 stone. Was thinish but an old size 10 still.
really depends on frame.
a child it wouldnt even be that thin as they start thin then get bigger into teens etc.

The6thQueen · 29/12/2025 14:39

My mum is 5 foot, just under 7 stone and a size zero. She’s perfectly healthy (blew the physio away with her arm muscles from gardening 🤣).
Clinically she’s underweight, but contextually she is fine.
Do you know the person, have you seen them?

Edited

There’s a 4in height difference in whoever the OP is talking about and your mum. That difference matters in weight terms.

Runningismyhappyplace50 · 29/12/2025 15:41

More context is needed. Have they always been this size or have they recently lost weight. It does sound like they may be underweight but they aren’t particularly tall

TawnyVowel · 29/12/2025 15:48

Is it you, and why are you asking?

Are you / the person in questing one of those people who insists on reminding everyone how tiny they are all the time…?

I know someone like this who is very healthy but at every opportunity insists on asking for a teaspoon to eat with as they’re so tiny, or asks people to get perfectly reachable items out of cupboards as they’re so tiny, or comments on how large eg a chair is as they’re so tiny.

Etc.

There’s a 4in height difference in whoever the OP is talking about and your mum. That difference matters in weight terms.

You would expect to weigh 4 lbs more for every inch in height so from 5’ to 5’4” you would expect someone to weigh over a stone more.

Alpacajigsaw · 29/12/2025 15:56

My son is over 6ft and weighs around this :/ he’s not tiny clearly but he’s very skinny

liveforsummer · 29/12/2025 15:58

5’4 isn’t very tall so if they are petite I’d probably not be concerned obviously lots of other considerations though

Wrenjay · 29/12/2025 15:58

When I was under 20 and up to 25 I was on average between 6st 7 and 7st and 5ft 5. Didn't always feel great and sometimes very tired. Doctor at that time didn't seem concerned. Still 5ft 5 and just over 10st in my late 70s and feel better.

Skybluepinky · 29/12/2025 16:00

One of my friends is 7 stone and 5’ 6” but has been this weight since she had her first child when she was 18 and is now in her 40’s.
I assume WLI, lots using them now have eating disorders, really sad but they need to seek help before they end up sectioned.
