Would you share your Amazon prime with in-laws?

I’m feeling pressured to share mine. But feel like I need to keep my orders private.

is there a way I can share it, but hide my orders and past orders away from them?

I've done this before, you have different logins so can't see each others orders.

FoxRedPuppy · 25/12/2025 20:25

I share one with my ex-husband and I can’t see his orders and vice versa. You set up a family I think. The difference is I sign in with my own email and password and it’s attached to the same account.

LemaxObsessive · 25/12/2025 20:39

Absolutely but then I’ve never had any in-laws (only a set of useless uninterested grandparents to my child). I do share my prime benefits with my mum and yes, you can still each use your own separate Amazon accounts. You don’t need to share accounts, you just can share your benefits with one other account.

LemaxObsessive · 25/12/2025 20:41

@ThatBluntZebraYeah it does, I share my benefits with my mum who lives across town and we each have our own accounts. She now uses it to watch Prime video as well as Prime postage

KimuraTan · 25/12/2025 20:43

I wouldn’t. They can ask you what to order to their address and pre-pay you but no way would I let them have access to my account. Prime TV is another matter and you can set up and leave it if I recall correctly.

LemaxObsessive · 25/12/2025 20:44

Vaxtable · 25/12/2025 12:57

No I would not share. You would have to remember to swap addresses all the time, and you would have access to their card details and them yours and you would have to make sure you always have the right card

Its not expensive, they can bet their own

You do not have access to each other’s card details at all! I don’t know who told you that. I share with my mum and we each have completely separate accounts and live in separate houses miles apart!

It's changed. You might still fly under the radar for a while but officially you need to live at the same address now as the person you share with.

It will probably be fine for a while and then they'll get strict, like happened with Netflix.

No you can say no. Get your own.

This. Dd shares mine as she’s at uni. I can see what she orders and I assume she can see my orders. But when she orders something I get an email. She has to know my log in and she’s always “forgetting “ to add her card and using mine. Sometimes she forgets to change the address and then I have to pay to post stuff to her. It’s a bit of a pain to say the least.

i haven’t investigated to see if there’s a better way of doing it

butternut123 · 26/12/2025 01:04

Yes tlu can as I share with MIL. Not sure how though as my DH set it up.

You’ve misunderstood, they’re not suggesting sharing accounts they’re suggesting sharing prime benefits there’s a difference. I share mine with my mum and we have totally separate Amazon accounts! I cannot see her orders nor her mine nor can we see each other’s card details! We live in separate homes. There is no swapping of any addresses.

We do this too. No idea how DH set it up though.

Serpentstooth · 27/12/2025 14:34

It costs next to nothing. Get them their own subscription.

dementedpixie · 27/12/2025 14:40

You both need separate log ins/amazon accounts and then the prime member shares their benefits through their account. I think they may send an invitation to the person sharing the prime benefits.

ThirdStorm · 27/12/2025 14:47

Amazon stopped prime sharing in June. I used to share with my sibling to get free delivery. I had to buy my own but now I get access to video too. They do offer Amazon family but that’s sharing within your household ie same address.

Pikachu150 · 27/12/2025 14:51

My àdult daughter is on my prime family. I can't see her orders. It works like a different account. You are meant to be at the same address though.

Glittertwins · 27/12/2025 14:59

You can have a “family” account on prime where you can share it with a second one. My parents have access to the secondary shared account as will the DCs so they can make use of all the services

It's got to be dildoes hasn't it

Applecup · 27/12/2025 15:33

Kardelen · 25/12/2025 12:14

Oh really, maybe it’s to do with settings then?
because I share with my husband currently and I can see his orders

I think you can do it but only with one person. Why don't they just put their hand in their pocket and pay for their own.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 27/12/2025 15:37

Me, DH and DD all share the same prime account, but as we all have our own Amazon accounts, we all have different logins and password and cannot see anything anyone else orders.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 27/12/2025 15:38

I mean if it was doable I’d happily try and get free delivery from Bezos for someone else. It’s hardly like fleecing a local business is it?

Are you all at the same address?
