So here I am at 9:40 on Christmas morning doing a full face of makeup before getting started on Christmas lunch. I mean a full on glam makeup that would be suited to the red carpet!

She’s always complaining that we don’t take enough photos as a family, so here I am making sure I’m ready for the millions she takes.

Yes. She doesn’t anyway

then either she is not getting invited or she hands over her phone.

DietQueen2023 · 25/12/2025 14:45

I’m with you OP, I’d wear make up if I knew the pictures were going to end up online. You want to look your best to the world! 🎄🎄

Skybluepinky · 25/12/2025 16:00

Most will think filters have been used, so you are definitely overthinking it.

Rosealea · 25/12/2025 16:14

I,don't understand why you need to put make up on never mind a full face no matter where she posts pictures.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 25/12/2025 16:22

Every time she posts one comment with a “please take my pics of social media as agreed thanks”

somanychristmaslights · 25/12/2025 10:18

I have my social media set so I have to approve anything I’m tagged in before it appears on my feed. Stops all the god awful pictures my DM posts of me 🙄

They will still appear on the posters’s timeline, but not on yours

LemaxObsessive · 25/12/2025 16:32

I would ask her to leave if she took ANY photos of me. She’d be gone! And if she put photos of my DC on social media I’d wipe the floor with her

LemaxObsessive · 25/12/2025 16:35

@HedgehogbrownI beg your pardon?! It’s everyone’s personal choice if they do not want their own body to be photographed! I cannot believe I am having to explain to this to a grown adult

MrsofClaus · 25/12/2025 16:36

If it bothers you catch her in an unattractive pose and post it on your socials. Amongst really flattering selfies.

everywhereeverything1 · 25/12/2025 16:39

Well lots of pictures have been taken, including me shovelling pigs in blankets in my mouth. Brilliant

I Never wear make up -never ever (not even for my wedding)

just not my thing - if others want to wear it I’m fine with that - each to their own - you do you - I’ll do me…

people want to take photos of me - go ahead - I am what I am - certainly not ‘glam’ but just me and I’m fine with that.

It’s very telling that OP has responded to multiple comments but has conveniently missed the advice that you can just change your FB settings so you can pre-approve any photos tagging you.

AutumnAllTheWay · 25/12/2025 18:31

Wow, I dont want to read past page 1.

What a load of unnecessarily aggressive comments to a relatively lighthearted moan in xmas morn.

Your fault this... blah blah blah.

Yanbu op. Hope your day went well.

I’ve seen it. I’m pretty sure I’ve responded and said that even if I’m not tagged they’re still posted!

We’ve all said before to her that we don’t like it. She says that’s not her problem and she wants the memories.

I wouldn’t be spending any more time with someone so careless of the personal boundaries of others.

IidentifyastheGrinch · 25/12/2025 19:49

Maybe stop inviting her?
Or tell her its very unfashionable to post hundreds of pictures on social media?
