Where are all the Selection Boxes this year?

There are no traditional stockings with chocolate bars in, and very few selection boxes. Is it the same everywhere? I've tried Aldi, Asda and Tesco - very very few to be had.

OP posts:

I saw masses of Cadbury selection boxes (not stocking shaped) in a big Asda just yesterday.

There's no dairy free this year either - absolutely none!

Tesco, Morrisons and Asda all stock the galaxy dairy free selection box. It is usually not with the Christmas stuff, just in tbe normal free from area. Also saw the NOMO ones in Tesco yesterday.

Judellie · 14/12/2025 17:31

Iceland had some quite good ones - the Nestle ones were better then the Cadbury ones I thought

2025mustbebetter · 14/12/2025 17:36

I got a stocking shaped box one in home
Bargains.

Watwing · 14/12/2025 17:36

Literally made the call a few weeks ago to make bags and fill them with bars from multipacks rather than buy one from Tescos.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/12/2025 17:37

In the storeroom on my ward! We’ve got bags and bags of them.

Not my photo, but I used to get this as one of my main Christmas presents!

Crikey 😱

OP, I just saw LOADS in Lidl, but all small/cardboard box. I haven't seen a stocking for years.

doitwithlove · 14/12/2025 21:28

Tesco had Nomo very small boxes in store today

IDontHateRainbows · 14/12/2025 21:30

They're absolutely tiny! I bought one to share in the office as a bit of a joke as we were all agog at how tiny the bars are, some no bigger than a large sweet. Good if you are on a diet..

Common??

Don't blame me, blame my parents. Along with ITV, white sliced bread, and various other very normal aspects of a 70s/80s childhood. And pillowcases of presents

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 23:14

celebrations/roses etc are not only more expensive but the tubs are smaller.

Even the purple caramel ones with nuts have changed shape no longer the long shape of youth they are circular now. Travesty.

Yes, I've seen a few, but vary much on the smaller end. Fudge etc and half size bars. Oh for the days of a box with ten large bars, most of them full size!

And don't get me started on the size of the advent calendars chocolates & Xmas tree chocolate decorations. They're so ridiculously miniscule now they're not worth bothering with.
The selection box bars are shrinking so much year on year that they'll soon be small enough to hang on the tree in place of proper xmas tree choc decorations. We're being fleeced left, right & centre

TidyCrow · 15/12/2025 05:18

Thank you! I had no idea what the OP was referencing.

Gosh they sound like insufferable snobs. No selection box??!! Tragic 😂

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 15/12/2025 05:47

We have 14 crates full from donations at our food bank. Thank you everyone who donated. Far too many to give out at Christmas, but will tide us over for confectionery into next year.

Daisymay8 · 15/12/2025 05:50

Cadbury is American owned - maybe it's too small a market to make stuff just for uk

ApolloandDaphne · 15/12/2025 05:54

This is what I remember.

Six bars totalling 174g makes 29g a bar. That's not the bars they are using to illustrate!

Sartre · 15/12/2025 07:20

Tesco have them. I bought a couple when we were asked to contribute chocolate for the school Christmas fair. They were cheaper than a big chocolate bar or box of maltesers.

DramaQueenlady · 15/12/2025 07:23

B&M had loads but all shrunk

ApolloandDaphne · 15/12/2025 05:54

This is what I remember.

I remember them, full size bars and no boxing to make it look more than it actually is.

caringcarer · 15/12/2025 10:16

They look so small, even supposed larger selection packs. It''s too embarrassing to gift to a child now.

SnowFrogJelly · 15/12/2025 10:19

Seen in Tescos
