To want quality Christmas wrapping paper

I know IANBU but really struggling to get decent quality that you can't easily rip or put your finger through. Any recommendations?

I'm going to go back and get 6 more rolls for next year 😄

Saltvinegar · 10/12/2025 19:47

I always pay more and get M&S paper for this reason. I bought some from Sainsbury’s this year on a whim and it’s rubbish. My mum rates Next paper as well.

Edenmum2 · 10/12/2025 19:48

not so much a quality issue but the designs this year have been abysmal

Tighteningmybelt · 10/12/2025 19:49

I bought a Kraft set on TikTok and it’s great. It came with string and labels too.

sesquipedalian · 10/12/2025 19:50

I agree about M and S paper - it’s good quality and wraps nicely. I picked up some from Sainsbury’s today because I need a bit more - by the sounds of it, I may be regretting it!

TKMaxx is always good for quality paper I find

I use Next wrapping paper now after years of being frustrated at thin paper! I find it really nice quality.

Another vote for next!

Horrorscope · 10/12/2025 21:21

NEXT’s is pretty good. I’ve been wrapping with it this week. No rips AND it’s got a cutting grid on the back!

Lidl paper is usually very good although I haven’t bought any this year.

This. Was amazed at the quality. Thick and £1 a roll

I love a cutting grid.

And me. It’s a wrapping paper non negotiable… No grid and I’ll be in a wrapping rage.

Enrichetta · 10/12/2025 22:05

I buy a roll of wallpaper lining paper and paint my own Christmas wrapping paper…… snowmen, angels, Christmas trees, lots of golden stars…

Oldieandgoldie · 10/12/2025 22:06

Yes, brown paper style, called craft paper, with Christmas patterns. I’ve bought some from M&S (maybe last years stock?) and Flying Tiger were also selling it this year.
And the rolls are massive!

Sally2791 · 10/12/2025 22:06

Lidl is the best

I’ve just bought some lovely thick paper from of all places Aldi .

I got some too in there - printed brown paper 99p a roll.

Violetparis · 10/12/2025 22:11

Got some lovely thick paper in Ikea last year.

MonsterBookOfTyson · 10/12/2025 22:23

Dunelm paper is good and 12m!

Chinsupmeloves · 10/12/2025 22:25

I always buy from aldi, thick quality and loads for a cheap price. X

I must be the only person on Planet Christmas who uses gift bags for everything, every size, every shape. No wrapping involved and they are bomb proof. I put red or gold tissue paper (scrunched a bit) over the present in the bag, so no one knows what's in it until the paper is removed.

Anyway I never have a scissors and tape to hand so paper just wouldn't work with disorganised me. 😊

We also use gift bags for everything and they're easier to reuse. We generally get plain silver and gold ones so they're not just for Christmas and some have been going round our family for years.

SheinIsShite · 11/12/2025 09:01

The Aldi stuff will also be recycle-able as it stays scrunched when you scrumple it up and doesn't spring back.
