If you’re having sex/lovemaking, you should be able to discuss anything. If you can’t, then stop having sex with them.

Make sure you use contraception first of all. Are you absolutely sure your boyfriend is a virgin?

yes I am sure I even made sure by asking him if he was a virgin and he said yes.

I’m either going to guess you are 1) far to immature/vulnerable to be having sex or 2) neither of those and someone (who may not even be 17) that is bored so created this post

That sounds a bit awkward. Has he asked you if you are a virgin? Do you mind me asking if you and your boyfriend know you are attracted to one another for example kissing, passionate embraces? If you are not, it would be a bit overwhelming to be jumping into bed (or equivalent).

If you are too embarrassed to talk about sex, you are not ready for sex.

it is a very vulnerable and new experience for your first time. If you cannot be open in conversation it’s not time yet.

If you managed to ask if he is a virgin, then you should be able to discuss other parts of sex. Was he embarrassed when you asked him? Did he turn round and say 'are you?'

that is exactly what happened after I asked him if he was a virgin.

So if he turned around and asked you the same question, then it can't be that difficult to talk about sex with him. Why didn't you continue the questions if you had something else you wanted to talk about?

If you need a conversation starter, then say 'You know you said you were a virgin? How do you feel about changing that status?'

Oh, and you didn't answer my question as to whether he was embarrassed, when you asked him?

If you can’t discuss anything sexual with him, then perhaps it’s time to consider whether you should be doing anything sexual with him.
