And said person has put their Christmas up.

None of my business.

Abracadabrador · 01/12/2025 11:59

Being lazy is great, I recommend it.

randomchap · 01/12/2025 12:01

I've still got cobwebs up in some rooms if that counts

BauhausOfEliott · 01/12/2025 12:01

I'd guess that 'said person' is simply a happy, well-adjusted individual who doesn't give a flying fuck what you think.

TomatoSandwiches · 01/12/2025 12:02

One of my favourite films is The Nightmare Before Christmas.

schoolfriend · 01/12/2025 12:02

We had our Christmas tree up until Feb last year. You could call it lazy I suppose, I prefer ‘making the most of it’

vodkaredbullgirl · 01/12/2025 12:03

And

deadend · 01/12/2025 12:04

You can think I’m lazy if you like.

i think I’m meeting my autistic child’s special interest and making things a way that brings them joy all year round

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/12/2025 12:04

I still have some Christmas decs up from last year

TheKeatingFive · 01/12/2025 12:05

Who cares what you think?

Greycheck · 01/12/2025 12:07

Don't worry, in five months you can point out that they are 'out already' rather than 'still out'

EmeraldShamrock000 · 01/12/2025 12:07

Yes, it is lazy, if you're going put them up, take them down.
No doubt you'll have posters falling over to say it is normal.

ToffeePennie · 01/12/2025 12:22

Technically I still have my Halloween lights up. I put the wrong ones up for Halloween and used Christmas lights instead.

renovationqueen · 01/12/2025 12:24

Houses in our village still have pumpkins rotting outside their houses - I think it does make you look lazy. If you can be arsed to put them out at least put them away agin.

JudgeBread · 01/12/2025 12:25

I think it's lazy to not bother to proof read a single sentence before posting it so maybe you'd get on well with Ms. Lazy Halloween/Christmas 😁

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 01/12/2025 12:26

Actually it may be quite a good idea. Have two sets of decorations permanently around the house and light up the relevant set when the occasion arises and then perhaps switch both sets on for New Year's Eve.

Maybe add some fireworks into the mix for Guy Fawkes night.

Novemberbrain · 01/12/2025 12:37

I would wonder if they had a young child who was particularly attached to the Halloween decorations, and had left them up alongside the Christmas ones because the child had asked them to.
I'm not a huge fan of Halloween decorations but tend to think of them and Xmas ones as being more for kids anyways. I don't think there is a formal deadline for these things and would tend to consider anyone taking that much of an interest to be a bit over-invested.

spiderlight · 01/12/2025 12:40

I still have Halloween lights in the window. They are just nice small autumnal-coloured string lights, not obvious pumpkins/ghosts, and they're so warm and cheerful that I have decided they'll stay up until we put the Christmas decs up in a week or so.

Because the mouldy pumpkin display is right by me?

People really don’t mind rotting vegetables … ok

There is no young child. They are two perfectly capable adults.

It's either very lazy, or super efficient. Get them out once and for all, and leave them there 😂

If it's your partner who has promised they would get round to remove them and still haven't bothered, then your partner is a lazy idiot 😂

Well I should have been more specific.

Have whatever decorations up in your house that you want. It’s none of my business.

I just personally think rotting pumpkins that are now .. 5 weeks old could just be put in a bin maybe.

Hmm in two minds.

If they're obviously halloween...perhaps disposable ones, like happy halloween garlands and fake cobwebs...I might wonder why they couldn't be bothered to take them down at least when they put the christmas ones up...

If they're more autumnal or just spooky (like ghost or pumpkin figurines), I'd just assume they liked them...

This is what it is, and I should have put that.

Honestly it really is gross and lazy. They are already outside… can’t you take the few extra steps and put them in the bin?
