I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I am freezing. Down to my bones. I have a heating pad under my jumper and a blanket on me and I finally feel warm for the first time this week.

I have ordered a hot water bottle but I don’t know what else I can do. I’m freezing. I’m on Mounjaro so I think it’s that, but I’m just so miserable.

I put a hot water bottle on my lap and a long, thick pure wool button up cardigan. Full length boots and thick leggings under my dress. Lots of hot drinks too. It's the sitting so still which really makes me cold and then my joints start to hurt and I hobble about like an old lady. Hate winter.

Any chance your iron is low?

@Homegrownberries

no, it’s just the fact that it’s fucking dreadfully freezing in the Uk. Her iron levels could be brilliant and she’ll still feel cold…because it is cold.

I’ve wanted one for years. My mum has scared me off them by convincing me as a child that they’d start a house fire!

You can literally put them in the washing machine these days. Time to move on!

Fucking dreadfully freezing is a great way to put it

Weirdly, I love this cold weather. There is a pub near me with an open log fire. Such a pleasure to go in there at lunchtime. So Dickensian. Then again, I hate the heat and whinge constantly during the hot weather. Must have been a snowman in a previous life.

Blackbookofsmiles1 · 19/11/2025 22:41

Body fat keeps you warm, if this is your first winter having lost a significant amount, you will notice it. Welcome to the cold club…..it sucks.

TidyCyan · 19/11/2025 22:41

I work in an old Georgian building with the door open (it's a reception - the inner door is closed) and I wear Primark fleece leggings under my trousers and thermal cashmere wrist warmers.

I do think it is also an effect of the Mounjaro. DH still has loads more body fat than me, and he's a man obvs, and yet he gets colder than me. Which has never happened before Mounjaro! Even when he was thinner, years ago.

BotterMon · 19/11/2025 22:43

We haven't had time to adapt as it's gone from unseasonably warm to fecking freezing within 48 hours.
Heated gilet!

Ineffable23 · 19/11/2025 22:43

I was So Cold when I was taking mounjaro and I didn't even take it all winter.

When I am working in winter I wear:

Thermal leggings, then sometimes jogging bottoms on top, or if I am in the office I have a long wool dress I sometimes wear.

On the top half: A vest. Then a long sleeved thermal vest. Then a top. Then a cashmere jumper. Then I have a cardigan I can put on top of that if necessary.

I wear woollen socks as well, and either wool slippers or lined boots.

If you suffer from cold hands it may be worth adding wrist warmers into the mix.

I still then sometimes put a blanket over my knees at home and I have a little electric heating pad which plugs in as well.

When I worked in the office I would sometimes go and climb four flights of stairs (to get to the top floor) then comes straight back down and make a hot drink. Just something to get the blood flowing again really.

OSTMusTisNT · 19/11/2025 22:45

Layers are the key. I used to wear a cotton/lycra vest top, then long sleeved thermals, a proper wool jumper and had a Gillet, fingerless gloves, blanket and hot water bottle in the office just in case. Tuck the vest into your pants and tuck the thermals into your trousers! Lots of hot drinks too, ginger tea always had a warming sensation.

Avoid anything that will make you sweat like acrylic jumpers. Proper wool is the way to go and hardly ever needs washing.

(Used to work in an open plan Council building which had 1960's heating and was generally running at 10 degrees. Under the legal limit but no one prepared to walk out as ultimately we needed a job.)

This is also true. 15° on Sunday to -5 today!

No advice , but I feel your pain. Also on monjaro and its the only side effect i've had but its exactly as you described, cold to my bones.

Friendlyfart · 19/11/2025 22:48

I’ve worked in some freezing offices! Thermals - long johns and long-sleeved thermal vests - layers. Prob cos they’ve all been public sector/charities and no money for decent heating system!!

Time4changeagain · 19/11/2025 22:49

I was freezing last year through the winter while taking MJ… It’s definitely a side effect that a lot of people have 🫤

DoYouReally · 19/11/2025 22:50

Fleeced lined tights under trousers and socks over them if shoes allow.

If my feet are cold, nothing will warm me up.

Also, a scarf too.

Heated gilets are great. The batteries are rechargeable so you could charge it at work.

It’s just like a layer of ice under my skin. It wasn’t so much an issue over summer, although I was definitely less sweaty. But now I’m just cold.

I feel your pain. I'm really cold a lot of the time, even at home. I wear fleece lined leggings and a thermal top under my workwear and usually a scarf of some kind when the weather is like this

5128gap · 19/11/2025 22:55

You need to keep moving as much as your job allows. Brisk walk round the office, run up and down the stairs. Wrap up and walk as fast as you can in your lunch break. Gets the circulation going. If you've lost a lot of weight you'll be missing your insulation. If you're restricting your diet you night not be taking enough nourishing foods in so make every meal count. Hot food ideally.

Kgfkbd · 19/11/2025 22:57

Get yourself an electric blanket! You won't regret it, they are life changing 😂. Modern ones are very safe. I wouldn't be without mine...I'm lying here toasty warm in bed as I type. Do it!! BUY ONE

It's not that cold. I think it definitely sounds like the OP is under the weather in some way (as I told her on her other thread).

lilybit2025 · 19/11/2025 23:13

Hi OP, I had this so so badly on mounjaro. Even peak summer I was FREEZING. it's a really common side effect and nothing you can do will warm you up. Just have to layer up and drink warm drinks
