Reactive HIV and HEPITAS B TEST

my partner of 12 years and I recently got tested for HIV and hepatitis b and c. I've had negative results but my partners results have come back as reactive. We did home tests. My thoughts are now spiralling and im sick with worry that he's got HIV, hepatitis or both. The nurse has said that 9 times out of 10 when a person gets tested again, the results are negative. Has anyone experienced this situation?

All clear results today! Such a relief!

Brilliant news. Try and push for answers as to why he tested reactive. It can indicate autoimmune diseases, which it did for me, some months before I felt really ill.

virus isn’t as strong as it once was
Off topic but is this true? I've never heard it before.

There are two virus types, 1 and 2, and different strains beyond that - the predominant strain in one place might be weaker, in another it might be stronger. I know in some places in Africa it can take 10 years to show symptoms, whereas Thailand is known to have the fastest-progressing and most lethal type. People can become cross-infected.
