A massive waste of public money policing a game where violence is so expected that schools have had to close early.

It’s just a game. Just football. Shouldn’t be a drain on public services.

Why is it not a suitable comparison? Because it’s Ukraine not Gaza? If MPs caring about Gaza is bad for Britain, why isn’t talking about Ukraine

You have no idea why people voted why they did, maybe they were fed up of the tories and also didn’t wang to vote for Labour, and if they did win because of their stance of Gaza… so? Reform won lots of seats likely because of their stance on immigration no?

Oh gosh, I can’t argue with stupid.

They are literally called the ‘pro-Gaza independents’ whenever they are referred to as a bloc in Parliament by the media.

Please point me to the bloc of ‘pro-Ukraine independents’ sitting in Parliament and I will retract my comment.

Because we don't send other countries arms, in Europe

You think we helped in other conflicts.

Because Israeli is out friend.

ah so we can care about Israel because they are our “friend” but no one can care about Gaza because they are not in Europe.

We all know Hamas does evil evil things, no one is sticking up for Hamas. Israel also do heinous things to their ”prisoners” doesn’t make it okay

It does.

Because you don't even know what you are on the side of.

You need to say "get rid of Hamas" and "free Palestine from Hamas"

Bringemout · 06/11/2025 20:34

PevenseygirlQQ · 06/11/2025 20:29

So Israel isn’t in Europe why do we send them weapons, why do we talk about them so much?

We sell arms everywhere and Israel buys a tiny amount of arms from the Uk but their intelligence is worth more than gold. Thats why.

We mainly talk about it because our streets regularly get flooded by pro-Palestinian supporters, we now can’t have football matches incase someone kicks off.

This is pure sectarianism. The jewish community in the UK basically quietly get on with their own shit whilst being harassed and attacked regularly. This should make people feel ashamed.

EasternStandard · 06/11/2025 20:37

Bringemout · 06/11/2025 20:27

They recorded their own crimes, they left the evidence of their perversion all over the place. They are disgraceful rapists. Are you not embarrassed to be a rape apologist?

Edited

Worse than that. No one should support Hamas online.

There are no pro Ukraine mps because everyone is pro Ukraine in our parliament, no one protests for Russia,(not that i think they should)

Do you have a problem with reform mps who were voted in because of their stance on immigration? or are you so Islamaphobic you don’t care?

My points are valid, you just refuse to accept them, please don’t call me stupid because you are frustrated not everyone has the same view as you.

If Aston can't welcome Jews from Israel, then the game should be moved to Tel Aviv.

You know nothing about this team and their fans. That comment is just embarrassing.

Well, first of all, I don’t recognise the word Islamophobic. I will retain my right to criticise any religion without being silenced with a label.

Im frustrated because you seem to want to change the goalposts of the discussion on a whim. My original post was about keeping religion out of politics and not having MPs in Parliament who are only there due to their religious stance on something that doesn’t not affect the lives of the majority of UK citizens. That’s not what the UK Parliament should be.

You then randomly brought Ukraine into it which isn’t comparable. That was my point.

Morningsleepin · 06/11/2025 20:46

TheFrendo · 06/11/2025 15:03

No.

Islam should not be dictating which football teams can play in this country.

It's not just Muslims who object to genocide and football hooligans

99bottlesofkombucha · 06/11/2025 20:46

I think anyone in the area convicted of domestic violence the night of a football match should be named and banned from both teams games for a year. Some wouldn’t care but a lot would.

Ukraine was a fine comparison, you just don’t want it to be.

Not recognising the word Islamaphobic is weird but your choice, I do believe you would be in outrage if someone said they don’t acknowledge the words anti-semitic.

Have a good evening, we clearly have different views.

Anti-semitism is a word related to race not religion.

’Islam’ is not a race. So it’s not at all weird to reject a word that tries to curtail criticism of a religion which we all know is a de facto blasphemy law.

And Ukraine was not remotely comparable but I really can’t be arsed to explain again why not. I think at this point you are just blind to sectarianism which is deeply concerning.

Tiswa · 06/11/2025 21:03

Russia though has been banned by UEFA since 2022 so it is comparable in that sense either as this simply wouldn’t happen

Football isn’t suppose to be this complicated and it isn’t Aston Villa’s fault that it is

Livelovebehappy · 06/11/2025 21:15

It really is disgusting that Pro Palestinians have hijacked the event to promote their hatred. We have family in Birmingham, my dh is a lifelong Villa fan and goes to many games even though we live a couple of hours away from the ground. My BIL and young nephew who live in Birmingham have stayed away from tonight’s game because of all the threats from the protestors, as it’s not safe for them to go. The police are clearly not going to protect them, they’ve made that very clear. The protestors got their way and the Israeli fans have been banned from attending, yet they still feel the need to present themselves at the ground spoiling things for people who just want to enjoy the football, and who are not interested in the politics being foisted on them.

Regardless of your views, immigration is clearly an issue that affects people here. No idea why it would be a problem for people to vote on something that is relevant to their lives in the UK.

Ukraine and Israel are both allies of the UK. Sectarian MPs who are directly opposed to that is something I have a massive issue with. It's a national security issue given the intelligence sharing from Israel that directly helps to keep us all safe here.

In this particular case it really is. Most probably didn’t even know where the ground was before tonight. I guess public interest in their ‘cause’ is dying a death now, so I suppose any publicity is good publicity. What better way than to drag themselves to a sporting event which has been in the news, in an attempt to make their protests relevant again. A bit pathetic really…..

So does that not mean people can support innocent Palestinians? I think Gaza/Israel have affected the UK, and many places in the world do you not?
