Brooklyn missed the Sir David Beckham knighthood

How far is too far?

Brooklyn has missed his Dad’s 50th birthday celebrations (in London, Cotswolds and Miami).

His mums Netflix premier and family summer holiday to Italy, instead going to South of France.

Crucially, his Dads Knighthood.

Of course we don’t know at this point if he was in fact invited to Windsor Castle given his no shows elsewhere.

Have you had a family feud, with a parent or sibling notably. How long did it go on for, what did you miss of one another’s and is it still going and why?

AIBU to think Brooklyn is going to regret this one day.

OP posts:

I think you’re unreasonable to say he’ll regret it one day without knowing what has happened. His reasons may be completely justifiable.

I don’t have any contact with a couple of family members. I still get people saying ‘you’ll regret it’ and ‘maybe you will make up one day’. Erm no. It’s been 15 years and the things they did were horrendous. If you don’t know the full story, it’s best not to comment.

You are being wildly unreasonable to know this info, let alone care, unless you're a close relative.

Although, you know it too now…

MyAcornWood · 04/11/2025 18:48

I don’t think it’s right to judge either side, given we don’t know the ins and outs of the issues at hand. Let people do what they think is right, and obviously he feels it’s right to distance himself.
I am NC with a parent. They haven’t been in my life since I was 14, so have missed academic achievements, my wedding, my children being born and growing up… I don’t regret it, nor have I ever regretted it! I have, however, had countless know it all knobheads tell me I will, or that it’s sooooo sad. No, it actually isn’t.

JaneJeffer · 04/11/2025 18:49

Maybe he doesn’t like crowds. He’s 26 years old and can do whatever he wants.

Mistymeg · 04/11/2025 18:11

It’s a discussion. If you have nothing to say and don’t care why did you comment.

Because my comment is as valid as yours. You’ve chosen to care about people you don’t know and who know nor care nothing about you, whilst I don’t.

If so why on earth would the beautiful, not ‘simple’, daughter of a billionaire fall in love with & marry him?

It is not unheard of, for people of differing intellectual levels to fall in love, you know!

Danioyellow · 04/11/2025 18:55

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/11/2025 18:09

I can't muster up a single bit of a fuck tbh. Who cares?

I wasn’t going to say anything, but now you have, how do people even know this stuff? They’re talking about them like they’re close friends and know them personally?? Honestly who follows these people they don’t know and actually gives a shit about where they went on their holidays? And writes threads on forums to other people who have never met them?

Danioyellow · 04/11/2025 18:58

I’ve just read that last line and it cracked me up 😂
Op spill the tea, what did Brooklyn tell you that makes you think he’s regret missing the party 👀 👀

RedRiverShore5 · 04/11/2025 18:59

Victoria and his parents were at the actual knighting by the look of the photos, His children were there but they were probably waiting outside

I mean, it’s not of interest to me either but are you really unaware of some people being interested in celebrities and where they might access and discuss the information? That’s fascinating that the knowledge might have passed you by!

I find it very odd. Obviously, people can discuss what they want, but I find this obsession with the lives of celebrities really strange.

I might have a vague interest in a dress someone wears or a restaurant somebody eats in (I am greedy and I like dresses) but I don’t give a shit about whether they’ve fallen out with each other or not.

Is it different (better) rules for rich celebs? A colleague was damed and was told very firmly she could only have two guests.

She was told incorrect information. You can take 3 guests to investitures. My father had 3 guests for his.

JumpOverTheCakeJake · 04/11/2025 19:07

Maybe he didn't want his whole childhood in the papers.

True but ‘simple’ is a synonym for intellectually impaired…

When DH had his appointment at Buckingham Palace he could only take two guests.

His mother, father, Victoria & the other children were there

He's a grown man, why would he be going on holiday with his parents? Also agree there will have been limited numbers , Google suggests three.

Hi go on holiday with my parents. It’s a lovely opportunity to spend more time together and they get to see more of their grandchildren.

And Beckham had more guests than that.

Needmorelego · 04/11/2025 19:13

He's an adult who is married so presumably off doing his own thing (whatever that is).
For some reason I thought he lives in America but I am not sure if that's correct.

RedRiverShore5 · 04/11/2025 19:15

VickyEadieofThigh · 04/11/2025 19:13

All the photos seem to show three guests in there, Victoria and his parents.

PinkPanther57 · 04/11/2025 19:16

Off topic of BB…VB looked amazing & very chic. DB said PC admired his suit & explained VB had copied one of his/been inspired by one of his.

RedRiverShore5 · 04/11/2025 19:16

They all looked very proud

The whole point of this thread is to suggest otherwise!

I'm not bothered either way but was intrigued by the notion that rich folk.might get more spaces. If that's not true - I'm out!

Nlom3847 · 04/11/2025 19:20

VickyEadieofThigh · 04/11/2025 19:13

All the photos only show 3 in the ceremony.

RedRiverShore5 · 04/11/2025 19:21

They were there but not in the actual ceremony room by the look of the photos

AzurePanda · 04/11/2025 19:26

You are only allowed 3 guests at an investiture
