No my son adores spiderman and he used to love "spidermen on toast" or even just spiderman pasta in a bowl with bread it don't matter as long as they are eating it.

talilac · 06/06/2008 13:51

God that would make my DH's week..

MONKEYMONKEY · 06/06/2008 13:54

oh i just read the thread again it says DH not DS!
tut.....

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 13:59

In the end, DH did the baths while I had a quick drink with my neighbour (across the fence, literally - she stands on a stepladder), and we got so drunk I didn't give DH anything! I staggered upstairs at 8:30pm to "sheck on the shildren" and passed out.

How have you let down your husband this week?

WenchConnection · 06/06/2008 15:06

Isn't battered pizza a speciality in the north east? Boak

MrsThierryHenry · 06/06/2008 15:30

Pasta on toast, eh? Long as it's drizzled with extra virgin olive oil (pressed between a virgin's thighs), slathered in Italian deli parmesan shavings, served with a sprinkling of juicy greek kalamata olives plus a handful of bum-blessing pumpkin seeds, I wouldn't find it unreasonable at all.

totalmisfit · 06/06/2008 15:40

i really fancy some tinned pasta shapes now, darn you!

Heifer · 06/06/2008 15:53

Well, having already looked rather silly by thinking it was going to be cooked pasta with a sauce - I now have another question..

Do adults really eat tinned pasta of any variety?

What great taste have I missed out on, I have NEVER (to my knowledge) eaten tinned pasta on toast (or with anything else for that matter)

Now heinz baked beans tis different, beans I could eat everyday. Beans I understand, but pasta??????

RosaLuxembourg · 06/06/2008 15:56

I've haven't laughed so much in days as I have at this thread. Only on Mumsnet.

motheroftwoboys · 06/06/2008 16:08

Have to defend the North East here . Have never seen deep fried pizza! Think you may have to go much further north to get that! We keep individual tins of beans and sausages/spag bol and ravioli in the cupboard as they are great for a quick lunch if you are on your own.

bluefox · 06/06/2008 16:15

Yeah I think deep fried pizza is more up in Scotland. Had it once from a takeaway - was horrified when it was dropped into the hot fat to finish it off first before selling it to me. Also had deep fried pies in Scotland.

FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 16:19

I'm in Essex
good place for fried things

bumperlicious · 06/06/2008 16:36

at tinned pasta. it's a different sauce to what you get it in beans isn't it, it tastes different. Beans I can tolerate but tinned spaghetti however I too have a long suffering DH who would love spiderman spaghetti on toast. He couldn't believe his luck when I was pg and just craved stodgy crap and our shopping trolly went from being full of spinach, turkey and other healthy stuff, to pop tarts, pies and ready made toad in the hole!

ProfYaffle · 06/06/2008 16:43

My dh would think all his birthdays had come at once if he got 'oops on toast for tea. Worst meal I had was a cheese pie which was, literally, lumps of cheddar in pastry whole plate was swimming with yellow oil t'was quite a posh restaurant too.

DeeRiguer · 06/06/2008 16:47

deep fried pizza is utterly gagworthy and should be binned infront of shop

macaroni pies are the business esp w brown sauce
macaroni in tin is just horror though

spaghetti on toast sublime as i remember

mistypeaks · 06/06/2008 16:56

My Dh gets 'oops for dinner a lot . . .
Oops I forgot to add pepper
Oops I forgot to turn the oven on
Oops I forgot to turn the oven off . . . the list is endless

pointydog · 06/06/2008 17:27

we've all eaten deep fried pizza in Scotland.
