Just curious to know how many of you have funeral cover for your children? Feel free to also explain your reasoning for having it/not having it

Not sure whether you're asking why I wouldn't take out a policy or why I'm asking, I do believe I've answered both questions in previous posts though. Or if your question was totally different then could you please elaborate?

Obviously this topic will be upsetting for some people, but it is clear from the title what it is about, so if you are sadly in a position where this is difficult for you, then you would scroll by and not open the thread.

As the OP states, MN is a huge, busy forum, on which all sorts of topics are discussed that might be upsetting for any individuals. That is absolutely allowed.

OP has also explained she isn't "researching" to write a book or an article or some sort of dissertation or report, she possibly used the wrong expression, but is "trying to ask a wider audience" as the people she had spoken to were saying things she was really surprised about (as it seems many of us on this thread are) so wanted to "ask the internet" to get more views.

If in England, they are free to the parents, as the government pays the standard expenses.

Of course, the family may want extras beyond this, but the standard funeral is covered by a specific government fund.

Yes, interested to know where you are too. I also arranged children's funerals in the South East and the only thing parents of under 18s ever paid for was a headstone, an urn, flowers, or if they wanted an upgrade to the standard coffin allowance. Our FD fees were waived, as were cremation and burial fees. We were supposed to only offer funerals to babies after 23 weeks gestation, but we always gave our services free for earlier miscarriages. One woman had only been 7 weeks pregnant, and there wasn't much to cremate, but she still got our services free.
