This is the kind of entitlement monarchy breeds.

This 100% ^
It doesn’t mean that they all are the same as Andrew morally but in reality it’s entitlement which the system breeds.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 22/10/2025 08:50

I think it's 30 bedrooms not rooms.

Really the entire family could live in one palace and not fall over each other.

puffballsleeves · 22/10/2025 07:56

Also I thought William was meant to out there ending homelessness? Maybe he could donate Andrew's house as a homeless shelter.

Why mock William's efforts? At least he's doing something. Plus, he doesn't have any legal rights to Royal Lodge even if he wanted to repurpose it. Andrew has a cast iron lease.
Basic information has been in all the papers and tv news.

Because he’s an entitled prick.

why can’t we send him into exile like we would’ve done in olden days? Banish him to Transylvania or some such?

Costs more, probably.

He has been absolutely untouchable, and that's the major problem here.

BananasFoster · 22/10/2025 08:56

This always makes me think Harry is so unaware. Buying a massive house, little purpose, but still wanting to be a very revered important HRH. Clawing for more money. He’s Andrew without the scandal

I've been so confused as to why Sarah Ferguson stands by him. Yes they divorced but she still lives with him and attends events with him. Maybe it's to do with the free mansion!

They're still together and never split up. She is cut from the same cloth. Anything goes.

Yes, they have never been apart and I suspect it's all co-dependent. However, perhaps both know too much about the other, iyswim

artherbrownlow · 22/10/2025 09:06

I am hoping that the Andrew scandal will be another contributory factor in the dismantling of the Royal family. I am not saying that all of them are bad people, the younger ones seem decent enough:it's not personal.

The Royal family needs to be dismantled because of the many things in this society that it props up such as elitism and social hierarchy by dint of birth.

Ratafia · 22/10/2025 09:10

Well, he and Sarah probably have separate wings with their own bedrooms, dressing rooms, sitting rooms, dining rooms, studies, kitchens, bathrooms, guest suites. Then there's something similar for each of his daughters when they come, plus more guest rooms, plus rooms for the staff; to say nothing of the cellars for the wine, larders, utility rooms, store rooms etc. Really the poor love must be incredibly cramped.

All the royal family feel entitled to this level of luxury. Not just him. It’s ludicrous.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 22/10/2025 09:30

Swank.

Sadcafe · 22/10/2025 09:34

He’s hardly alone in having a massive house though, why does anyone need 8/ 10 bedrooms plus , unless you have a very big family, but many exist and no one seems to say anything about them

30 rooms?
Shocking.

Seven palaces and another half a dozen castles.

For fifteen "working" people.

Shocking!

Ukisgaslit · 22/10/2025 09:45

@Asunciondeflata
”Why mock William's efforts? At least he's doing something”

You clearly haven’t been paying attention .
William does so little his own Aunt Anne has publicly complained about his laziness .

William has done nothing - the only thing he does is try to improve his increasingly poor image . He helped in the attempted rehabilitation of Andrew - then a few days ago tried again to garner good publicity for himself by claimed he’d strip Andrew’s titles . Hoping people wouldn’t remember William’s past

I find William very cold and calculating .

Asunciondeflata · 22/10/2025 09:52

@Ukisgaslit I have been "paying attention". Thank you, I'm not 12. William has worked with the homeless charity I am involved with.
I am impressed.
Also, Anne has not publicly called William lazy.
That is not only highly improbable, but absolutely unproven.
You have an opinion on William, fine. It is also fine to have an other, differently informed, opinion.

Ukisgaslit · 22/10/2025 09:56

Sure - we all have our opinions don’t we

Even based on the laughable ‘court circular ‘ William is at the bottom in terms of work .
His cancer stricken father was doing more than he was

I think perhaps William is for another thread, you obviously have strong feelings about him.
I have no idea why Andrew is able to act with such impunity. The more stories coming out, the worse it seems.
I think other issues are a bit of a distraction in all honesty.

Jesus don't you people ever give it a rest? Likening Harry to the Nonce and Future King is deranged.

Ukisgaslit · 22/10/2025 10:01

@Asunciondeflata

William is not for another thread - he was up to his neck in the several attempted rehabilitations of Andrew . They all knew what he’d done - long before we did .

Several times William was photographed with Andrew in the front seat of his car
William and Kate even had the message put out a few years ago that they’d prefer Andrew as a neighbour to Harry!

As I said - he’s cold and calculating- and lazy

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/10/2025 10:01

True, but it's a little bijou compared to Bagshot Park (Edward & Sophie's gaff).

It's interesting, I've noticed that on Andrew threads there's a tendency to "oh, but...x member of the RF is bad in this way!"

Because they're utterly obsessed with H+M and frame everything around their obsession. The Royal Family topic is full of absolutely lunatic posts. It makes for very amusing reading.

Ukisgaslit · 22/10/2025 10:13

@Pharazon

The attempted link between Harry and Andrew has been a clumsy PR attempt for a while .

Its counterproductive .
