Andrew has not given up anything .
His own ( I doubt the wrote it ) statement says he will not use his ‘titles’ .He still has them

Charles and William dare not touch Andrew in case Andrew reveals all about the rest of them - plus they no doubt see nothing wrong- what’s another used and abused peasant to them ?
But another woman linked to the Windsors has died, Virginia Giuffre, and her book is released next week . So the Windsors need to throw a bone to the public and make it look like they have done something . They have done precisely nothing .
It’s hot air .

Is the BBC helping to prop up the Windsor grift ? The article does say Andrew doesn’t ‘use’ his HRH - but he still has it . So they must know this nonsense re ‘giving up’ a title is not the whole story . Why not make it clear to the reader ?

Prince Andrew gives up royal titles including Duke of York after 'discussion with King'

In a statement, the prince says: "The continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family."

@Gwenhwyfar
That’s true - they did take HRH from Diana

Did they manage to find the legislative time then ?
But now , with all that Andrew is associated with - it’s too much bother

Bullshit
Andrew is protected and ‘not using’ titles he still has is more bullshit
The Windsors are protecting Andrew

She wasn't born HRH andrew was that's the most obvious difference

Ukisgaslit · 18/10/2025 12:03

No one is born HRH

It was a lie when it was first invented to fool the peasants and it’s a lie now

Interesting username there, OP. Makes me wonder what your motives are for starting this thread.🤔

Aside from that - really? Does the general public in the UK really give anything remotely resembling a shit about all this royal muck-raking? <pun intended>

Because I sure don't.

By which mechanism would Willaim exile Andrew ?

He doesn’t have the power nor , more importantly , the will.
William was happy to be photographed driving Andrew around while the Epstein scandal was still all over the news - Kate grinning away in the back
At the Duchess of Kent’s funeral Andrew was joshing away with Willaim , perplexed as to why Willaim wasn’t responding as he no doubt usually does . William then spoke to Andrew with his hand covering his mouth - ie shut up uncle Andy the cameras are on me

When he is King he will have the power to do so; and Parliament would back it. Read your history. Heard of the Duke of Windsor? And its William, not Willaim. You seem to be a keen media analyst. Look it up.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 18/10/2025 12:11

Is SF not still Princess Andrew?

Yes exactly what I thought. However, its the grammar and spelling thats really getting on my nerves 🙄 Obviously a first rate expert on the British monarchy...especially as they seem to have no clue what a monarch can or cannot do if they so wish.

ProfoundlyPeculiarAndWeird · 18/10/2025 12:13

And re "the BBC helping to prop up the Windsor grift " , the guardian (not known for its pro-royal toadying) has used the same headline.

We aren't duped peasants. We're just (for the most part) people who don't really care about this particular variant on the Big Brother house and its evictions.

There’s no doubt about my motives !

Ive started several threads re the abuses the Windsors inflict on the public . I’m happy to stand by them
Do a search - you might learn something

The family finally cut off him to protect their own unearned privileges .
But the bigger issue is that he was thought suitable to be a trade ambassador for the UK. The corruption element deserves a police investigation, but we know that won’t happen.

Yes I addressed the wider media issue

Although the Guardian has done a lot of work over the years highlighting Windsor abuses of laws and finances

It doesn't sound a big deal to us, but it's a big deal in his world. He was once a very important person in the world of royals and the aristocracy. A royal Duke is one step below a King. Now basically he's been forced to give up all his honorary titles.
He's been shamed and if he doesn't keep his head down or if more allegations come out they will do more.

Viviennemary · 18/10/2025 12:16

He is still Prince Andrew not Mr Windsor or Mr York. So he hasn't given up titles at all. He still lives in a mansion with servants I presume. I doubt he's doing his own cooking and cleaning. Total hoodwink

There's been a variety of threads on a very similar theme just lately.

People can change their username (not that I'm suggesting anything of the kind of course...), but the overall content, tone, grammar and spelling gives the game away sometimes.

Id like him to be given a new name, and only be referred to as that: Andy Smith would be fine.

A typo more than once though...Congratulations on that last sentence too 👏 really, genuinely helps us to understand you and why you are here, very grateful indeed. I'm off to attend to my cat's litter tray and, I will be thinking of you whilst I'm doing it.

He hasn’t ’given anything up’ yet because it has only just been announced.

He didn’t inherit anything after the ER’s death except 2 dogs.

What exactly are you expecting? For Charles to turf him out onto the street and he live on a council estate?

It is believed he inherited susbstantially from his grandmother, the queen mother.
But since the royals have decided that virtually all royal wills will remain secret for many years, I fear we will never know.
(This followed an agreement between the queen's grandfather and the government of the day whereby the sovereign's will would be kept secret in return for him relinquishing some civil list type payments. But this has since been expanded to include virtually the entire royal family. )

Trickabrick · 18/10/2025 12:20

Anyone with a vested interest in the news will have read behind the headline and the use of the word “stripped” and focused on the actual intent of the move, and the consequences for Andrew which is a proper result for the victims after years of lies, smokescreens and cover ups.

I think the case with Diana was different as she was not born a Princess with an HRH title, it was awarded on marriage to Charles, so easier to remove. Andrew was born with the title of ‘Prince’ which makes him HRH, which can’t be taken off him.

Well, but that poster isn’t incorrect. Andrew was born a baby, like any other baby. The idea of a god-given sacred bloodline destined to rule its subjects via male primogeniture (and then unisex primogeniture) is a story. Like money, or nations., or religion.

Unfortunately, in his case, that story allowed him access to under-age girls via his appeal, as a British prince, to an American financier and child trafficker who would not have been interested in any other paunchy, middle-aged grifter.
