i came back from picking up dd and ds and it was there.it is a fake bambo frame with a water colour picture of a dog and cat looking at a tortoise, very 80's.would it be unreasonable to divorce him over a picture?

GentleOtter - I can't believe I've never seen her before. You were obviously much classier. I shall go and register a complaint.

Enraha · 04/06/2008 16:34

My first thought when I read this was some kind of 'palling fantasy art or a lovely red car.

Maybe you should put up some Revenge pictures, until he gets the message

NotABanana · 04/06/2008 16:36

Joking aside, it is obvioulsy important to him so maybe compromise on where it goes.

hullygully · 04/06/2008 16:40

I want her wings (cloud fairy person). I had deckchair poster as a student. Sad.

GentleOtter · 04/06/2008 16:53

OP How about some nice Wally Dugs too?
here

charliecat · 04/06/2008 16:57

I think you need to take pic of it so we can judge

Olipop · 04/06/2008 16:57

my mum and dad had the david sheppherd (I think) elephants pictures up in the living room....until we spotted them on Del Boys wall in Only Fools and Horses.........they were relegated to the loft after that!

Enraha · 04/06/2008 16:59

Dogs playing snooker. Yay!
Or...

mock flamenco poster with Your name inserted. I had one of these (aged 7)

MeMySonAndI · 04/06/2008 17:04

I had a friend who got an horrendously painted painting of a couple having sex. It was a wedding gift and they were reluctant to bin it because it came with it's own certificate of "authenticity"

I recognise that my perception about this friend changed radically after I realise she wanted to "keep" that thing... So yes, divorce your husband!

Olipop · 04/06/2008 17:06

oooh and my MIL has a large scale decoupage version of the pears soap bubbles boy....god, I come from a family of scary pictures!

PrimulaVeris · 04/06/2008 17:06

Divorce, definitely. But he has to get custody of the artwork

Olipop - we also had the David Shepherd elephants!!! Set off by resplendent orange swirly wallpaper ...

hullygully · 04/06/2008 17:13

No elephants but yes flamenco poster. I loved it.

Sidge · 04/06/2008 20:41

I had this on my wall when I was at school but show me a teenager in the 80s who didn't!!

Mind you if I put it up in the lounge now I would reasonably expect DH to leave me

hullygully · 04/06/2008 20:55

And phone social services...

OverMyDeadBody · 04/06/2008 20:59

Definately grounds for divorce.

At the very least insist he pouts it in the shed. Make up an excuse like it scares the children or something.

bergentulip · 04/06/2008 21:08

Sidge, early 90's surely?

BroccoliSpears · 04/06/2008 21:09

When I was a kid everyone had this on their wall.

Tidgypuds · 04/06/2008 21:17

Sidge I had that pic , thank you so much It brought back a lot of memories of sharing a room with my sister.

OrmIrian · 04/06/2008 21:19

Redecorate your guest room and discover that amazingly the picture would fit in perfectly.

Of course that plan falls down if you have now spare room like us.

bohemianbint · 04/06/2008 21:24

Is he having a laugh? Sounds like the kind of thing I'd do to DH to see how long it would take him to mention it...

Sidge · 04/06/2008 21:25

Bergentulip apparently it was shot in 1986!

I definitely remember having it on my wall at school, and I left in 1987.

RosaLuxembourg · 04/06/2008 21:28

Now I am trying to remember the name of the quite sickeningly sentimental artist my mum likes - she was raving over him recently and I was trying not to boak.

lulumama · 04/06/2008 21:28

one of my aged , possibly now deceased relatives had the flamenco picture

ded classy

wish i;d kept it

bohemianbint · 04/06/2008 21:30
