If I were to offer my opinion, I would say that all these unhelpful posts from Jewish allies is causing harm to the Jewish people by conflating being Jewish with support for Israel.

Its noticeable that when talking about this issue these allies refer to Jews and Palestinians. Palestinians are defined by nationhood, Jews by religion and by extention Israelis are referred to as Jews, and therefore Jews are Israeli, or at the very least alligned to Israel. Strange because, we are defining a nation by its majority religion, and another only by its relationship to place. A place we deny they should exist in. We dont refer to Palestinians as Muslims. Odd really when you consider that most "allies" are pro Israel and not just simply 'standing with the Jews'

OP if you are pro Israel please just straight up say it. You are entitled to do so, what you are not entitled to do is to drag every Jew into it by conflating being Jewish with supporting, living in or belonging by nationality to Israel.

We live in an area with a sizeable Jewish community and I can tell you unequivocally that being Jewish is by no means synonymous with supporting what Israel is doing in Gaza.

There was a terrorist attack on a Jewish community ten days ago in our country.
As a community I’m sure they are feeling a bit raw and scared from that.

Maybe seeing some support from others might mean something to someone reading.

I find it strange people seem to be so prickly about it.
