Is 30 too old to be deemed conventionally attractive

Or not

Being brutally honest OP, if you were attractive at 22 you will still be attractive at 32 and 42 and possibly fading a bit after that. If you were not attractive at 22 then you never will be, and need to accept that. Some improve a bit in 30s, some disimprove a bit, as the face shape can change but generally the person is still on a ball park of the same level of attractiveness / beauty as they always were.

Onegingerhead · 09/10/2025 16:31

Cynic17 · 09/10/2025 16:26

OP, have you seen Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Kristen Scott Thomas..... not one of them under 60 (& in fact, up to 30 years older than 60) and all of them are phenomenally attractive.
Dame Jilly Cooper (RIP), aged 88, and still pretty, giggly and obviously fantastic company - hugely attractive.
Why on earth do you think it stops at 30?!

If the OP’s a woman, then it was probably some genius male who told her that.
I’ve heard similar crap before, I remember being 32 and being told I was “too old to date” by a man who was older than me

OneSnugLemonTiger · 09/10/2025 15:37

I started to notice ageing from 26.

You’ve got a long road ahead of you op. A long road.

I personally think I was most attractive at 40. But now I'm 58 I have fewer shits to give.

childofthe607080s · 09/10/2025 16:35

There is a difference between looking beautiful and being sexually attractive and the later is strongly associated for biological reasons with youth, symmetry, looking healthy, and a slim waist that’s suggests you haven’t had children already

yes sexually attraction continues long past reproductive years but it certainly is behind a lot of “looking good” which really means “looking fertile and untouched “ from a biological / animal standpoint

Chemenger · 09/10/2025 16:35

I saw Catherine Zeta Jones playing golf in a howling gale last weekend. She’s in her 50’s and stunning.

Perhaps have a look at why u need to post such nonsense.

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 09/10/2025 16:38

Threads like these actually make me glad I've never been conventionally or otherwise attractive- you can't lose what you've never had!

Not that anyone can lose their looks in their 30s, that's just silly. Plenty of people look much better in their 30s than 20s, Gillian Anderson for example.

Needhelp101 · 09/10/2025 16:41

Here for the comments, and they didn't disappoint 😁

OriginalSkang · 09/10/2025 16:43

I (a 47 year old woman) was described as "fit" by a 35 year old, recently

:smug emoji: 😉

outdooryone · 09/10/2025 16:45

51 and as good looking as it gets - George Clooney would have a man-crush on me.

CandleMug · 09/10/2025 16:47

I would find a natural looking 35 year old more attractive than a 25 year old with lip fillers/botox or other injectables. I find the look utterly hideous and their faces would be so much more attractive without the shit they pump in to them.

Just about every reality tv show have women that ‘look like that’ and they all morph in to one with puffy cheeks, fish lips, massive white veneers and shiny foreheads.

So in that respect age is irrelevant

TheDenimPoet · 09/10/2025 17:04

I'm 35 and more attractive than I was in my 20s - mainly because I've learned how to do my eyebrows and my acne has calmed down, but even so!

333FionaG · 09/10/2025 17:05

I’m in my 60s and don’t feel ugly.
And I’m aging disgracefully.

PuppiesProzacProsecco · 09/10/2025 17:13

Have a word with yourself OP! I've recently turned 49 and I'm bloody gorgeous.

ThatRealLemonCat · 09/10/2025 17:15

Angelina Jolie is 50...
and she has a conventionally attractive very symmetrical face

so there..

Some women became attractive in their 30s, because their features got more attractive and they learnt how to make the most of them.

Why are mixing up age and attractiveness. Some if the most sexy fuckers I know are well past 50.

Namechangerage · 09/10/2025 17:16

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 09/10/2025 15:18

Yes, looking at anyone over 30 makes me physically sick.

🤣🤣🤣

Namechangerage · 09/10/2025 17:17

What the fuck.

Tigerbalmshark · 09/10/2025 17:24

Yep, Claudia Schiffer is ugly as sin now she’s 55. Shakira, Rihanna and Beyoncé too, I’m sure literally nobody finds any of them attractive now they are over 30 Hmm

PrincessHoneysuckle · 09/10/2025 17:24

I was at my absolute peak looks wise at 32 yabu.

PotatoPrometheus · 09/10/2025 17:27

I was ugly when I was under 30, and I’m still ugly now I’m over 30…the only difference is I just don’t care about it anymore 😂

JHound · 09/10/2025 17:29

🙄

I saw a photo of Kelly Rowland the other day and thought “40s? Eugh!”

ThatRealLemonCat · 09/10/2025 17:31

I am trying to figure out what kind of "aging signs" appear in your mid-20s when so many women are at their peak in their mid 30s

MissDoubleU · 09/10/2025 17:36

OneSnugLemonTiger · 09/10/2025 15:37

And? This is a privilege too many don’t have. Start seeing it that way. In fact, you could even start seeing the beauty in aging.

Kate Winslet recently said in an interview the most attractive things she can see in a woman’s face are the wrinkles at the eye and smile lines. She said that the older women get the more attractive they are. And you know, I agree.

Not everyone wants to or needs to look like a “sexy baby” and it’s quite weird that that’s some kind of goal.
