People using the word gosh, or golly gosh.

I have never in real life heard anyone other than MN posters and Disney princesses use gosh. It's absolutely vile.

It can get in the bin along with moist, supper and plonk (wine).

(Lighthearted of course)

Ugh - yes!, “Thoughts and prayers” - the most shamelessly hypocritical phrase of all. I wince when politicians or the police issue a statement saying that their thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family. It’s so cliched, empty, unoriginal and formulaic.

I sometimes say “ Gordon Bennett”. I’ve always found this intriguing.

Dean from MAFS (no, I'm not Sarah).

I don’t know if you’re still with us, OP, but I think the consensus is : you need to get out more!🤣

I cannot stand lush, moist, stinky, hun, yummy, knickers, gusset or panties! Just typing gusset and panties makes me want to scream the house down!

As a Christian I find the world and her brother saying oh God all the time is awful its one of the 10 commandments not to take name in vain ...so its blasphemous.(offensive)..to Christians...... but most secular people dont know or care and do it all the time ... it gives me the ick tho xxxx

Personally I’m not keen on “Ick”!

Me neither. Beyond stupid.

Letskeepitrealpeeps · 11/10/2025 15:23

my very close (and absolutely lovely) friend does.

She is a devout Christian and uses it instead “God”

I love her saying it 😊

Exactly

I can't stand when people are describing their food and say lashings of butter, or lashings of jam. I don't think I've ever actually heard someone say it, I only ever read it but it makes my skin crawl!!

All the trimmings. Ghastly phrase.
